Writing you almost a year. There are a couple of reasons why I chose to write you. In the first place, you are a Palestinian, and Palestine has all along been my formost love. It is the bleeding heart of the organic whole, which makes every limb ache.

Second, Detroit and London, ON are not far–just two hours drive. Geographical proximity also plays a role in deciding on potential friends. I have been to Londin many times. Finally, I liked the fact that you are a rebel. I have always been enamoured of rebels and non-conformist people. Soft and pliant people have never captured my imagination. And this ideal has caused my to admire Edward Said, Eqbal Ahmad, Noam Chomsky, and now John Mearsheimer and Stephan Walt.
