Salaam,

I would love to say that those who appear to be wasteful at work will lose out in the long run and will be “caught out. Unfortunately, from my own experiences this may be the case in private organisations but in governmental orgs its more about “who you know and not necessarily “hat you know. I’ve been frustrated many a time at work watching individuals deliberately avoiding their work and giving the impression they are constantly too busy o take any further work.

I tell myself that work can be seen as a form of obedience and worship towards God, but there are too many times when this isn’t enough for someone with weak faith like me to not get frustrated!

It’s always good to have an outlet btw. If you enjoy your art then you should pursue it and enjoy it – let it give your mind some peace and room to expand.

maybe.. but a person still needs to work no matter what.. increasing your knowledge is at your own time. It is natural because we learn new things every day!

Nice post! IMHO, going to work and not working is good for short term but in the long run it will do harm to the employee career than the employer. But there are exceptions to that. Like, not working for working more efficiently and intelligently in the long run. eg. researching your own subject more deeply or practising your tools when you are not actually working etc. Such activities will definitely improve your performance and benefit your employer in the end. Don't you think? :P
