On the first day of Ramdan I made rice balls! :P

By: Mona
.......................

I looked up a recipe on some arabic cooking site, and I made these yummy rice balls. Well I liked them. They were good! :)

Rice Balls

Recipe:

  1. 3 cups rice
  2. 3 potatoes
  3. 1 cup cheese
  4. Fresh mint
  5. Salt / Pepper
  6. Bread Crumbs
  7. 1 Egg

–

First boil the potatoes and cook the rice fully. When they are both cooked, put them both in the food processor and add salt pepper and any other spices you like and grind them up good so it looks thick and can be rolled up to a ball. Shred some mozzirala cheese and fresh mint for the stuffing. Take some of the rice ball stuffing and roll it up to a ball. Fill it with the cheese stuffing and roll it and put it on plastic ceran wrap in a container. After your done, take the container with the rice balls and place it in the freezer for 2 or 3 hours. When your ready to fry them, take an egg and brake it in a bowl. Take the bread crumbs and put it in another bowl. Now take the rice ball and dip it completely in the egg and then put it in the bread crumbs and make sure the bread crumbs are spread on every area of the rice ball. Now dip each rice ball in hot frying oil. Leave it till it turns golden brown colour. So approximetly 1 min of each side. Use a fork to turn the rice ball around in the frying pan. When it is golden, take it out and place it on parchment paper or anything that will remove access oil. Use a nice dipping sauce like salsa or anything you like and enjoy!! :)
