Kids really learn from grown ups

You know. I usually don’t believe in idols or someone to look up to. I think we can make our own personality to be unique. Unfortunetly that is not the case.

So here is the scenario.

I get home around 4:30ish almost every day after work. So the moment I get into the door. If my sister answers the door. She doesn’t say hi. Well… not just hi. She says hi.. guess what happened to school today.. blah blah…………… 2 min later she tells me the story of her entire day and I am still standing at the door. I did not step 1 foot into the house yet.

I thought it was just a bad habit until today when I took notice of this scenario that never occured to me.

My dad works from home. So he is always on the computer. Sometimes I am lazy (well always) .. and I ring the door so someone can get up and walk and open the door. (Too lazy to take the key out of my bag). So my dad and sister opened the door at the same time. There was no exchange of hellos. My dad started telling me the story how he went to buy goldfish food but it wasn’t the right one because the guy in the store recommended another one and he knows he is wrong and I will get mad cuz he got the wrong one.. blah blah.. and he was paranoid that the fish won’t eat it and there isn’t much food left. (I got big fat goldfish!) :D At the same time my sister was like guess what happened today at school.. my teacher thinks I got asthma cuz I was breathing heavily from the cold.. then he thought everyone else is and she doesn’t.. and he wanted her to run more to make sure.. blah blah.. TWO conversations at the same time. I looked up . I looked down.. and I was like. wow.. no wonder she learned it from someone.. my dad if he has a story. Bam he tells it the moment I get into the house. My sister the same. :|

All within the first 2 minutes of me entering the house. It’s amazing. I cannot do that. The moment I get into the house I cannot wait to take off my clothes and wear my pajamas, then check out what mom cooked. I don’t watch TV so I am not interested in what’s on. So that is almost the daily routine of my life. I mean it. EVERY DAY!

I think that’s really cute! And you’re really lucky too! At my house, if my siblings or parents come, we go straight to our rooms and close our doors. Nobody cares to tell anybody about their day :p We all love each other (we’re a pretty loving family :p) but that’s what ends up happening.

hahaha sounds like deja vu! As soon as we walk in, bam, my mom or bros or sis or dad has a story. Or the person walking in has a story! If there is no story, it just feels weird lol. I am a lot like you though, in that I need to “breathe” for about 5 minutes in my room alone first…and then I can participate in the attack
