The Pursuit of Happyness

pursuit-of-happyness.jpgI watched the movie Today. It was amazing. Honestly, I love movies that give you that follow up time to keep thinking about your life. How hard is it to pursue your happiness. There was a quote in the movie that the character Chris Gardner said something like … “Happiness does not exist. We have to earn it.” And I couldn’t agree more. Honestly I know that for a fact. We are not born happy. We are never happy all the time. Those who say they are just kidden them selves. I can honestly say I am not happy. I can be fake happy. I am an expert at being the “fake” happy. I do it every day. Honestly if I had my way I would be sitting alone crying every hour not do anything. So one thing I loved about the story of the guy in the movie (which is based on a true story) that no matter how bad your life is, no matter how horrible it is, you never ever show it to people. If you have a goal in life, do anything you can to stand out and not show that you are weak. That is so hard to do. I try I really try to just do what I can do. I still don’t have a set goal in life. I am not sure what I want. Some may think I have it all, but believe me, the path to true happiness does not involve money and work. That is the last thing. For some it might be. However I mentioned this in an earlier reply or post that no matter what we have, then we are always missing something. Could be something that may not be so big. Something that might be insignificant to some, but means the world to others. And to reach that goal it will take so much work and so much determination. Another great quote from the movie that is in the trailer: “If you want something. Go get it. Period.”

That is what lots of people lack. They lack determination. Some people may not even have a goal in life. That is not another problem.
Anyways… I recommend EVERYONE to see this movie. It’s amazing! I always liked Will Smith movies, but this movie tops them all.

We aren’t always the opposite of happy either. We are born “mood neutral”. There is no happiness without sadness, nor sadness without happiness.
So wth do you feel like crying so much? Seek out things that make you feel content if not joyful, irregardless of any perceived restraints.

Hi Mona.. I just found your blog this morning.. I have to say i’m addicted.. Depression sucks, doesn’t it? It seems no matter how hard you fight, it still lingers, and can take you at a moment notice.. I read in one of your entries, that you take a day here when needed for depression, and I have found that as very effective.. If you try and go, in that mood, it can only extend it’s effects, and you won’t help yourself at work.. I too, love technology and art, though I have very little artistic ablility..

I feel in another life and circustance, I would have been in the medical field, and sometimes I still will end up there, but not sure the heart is at the level of strength, so love of technology wins for now..

Thanks, for openning a part of your world to your readers. I felt a connection to your words and find comfort in them.

    Rich.

hi Rich.. thanks for coming to my blog and reading it and becoming addicted.. I am addicted to writing in it.. lol :D and it is great that if I can share my feelings with others and some how they relate to me than it is great. I feel that I have reached someone out there that can understand me…
