Whiny bloggers

8/02/07 @ 9:34 pm

Well, over the past year and couple of months I have been blogging, I was labeled for my writing as many things. Mostly being a whiner or complainer. I do complain. Yes. That was the whole purpose of my blog. I explained that many times. However, I read other people’s blogs, and they whine more than me. They bitch and complain and say the craziest things. Yet they come to my blog and say I whine too much. I don’t get it? Is my whining different than yours? Am I being stereotyped cause my whining is not as clever and general and more open to discussion as yours?

For example, lots of girls complain about the opposite gender. Well I do too, but for my case it is only complaining about one guy pretty much. However, I got tired of it now. Yet, they generalize an entire gender and then they wonder why guys fight with them and don’t understand them. Yada yada yada.. sheesh..

Also same goes for guys. They complain that girls are whining and complaining and generalizing. You know what I say. Suck it up! Nothing will be gained from all these complaints! Whine about something more detailed from now on! Stop generalizing!

Also.. no need to just post stupid comments to make your self sound smarter and more superior. You will only prove how stupid you are!

So let’s all try it. No whining and complaining for one week! And see if we can get used to it and be better complainers at subjects worth complaining about!

Hey, Reb Arab Girl, this is my first visit to your blog after being tempted many times, so I’m not an expert of your brand of complaining.

I think there is redemptive value in complaining…it exposes depravity and gets people used to talking about a subject that needs change. Keep it up.

I feel there is aLOT that needs changed in the Middle East, in every area of life…in culture, in Islam, in government, in relationships. The Arab world is in denial and fear of change. To me, one of the biggest problem here is blame-shifting, and not taking responsibility for wrong.

ALL that said, when there are possible solutions to problems as well as the complaint, it takes the edge off the impossibility of the task. So, for us girls, we can work on ourselves, or our friends, and discourage them from being petty, money-grubbing little girls who don’t grow up instead of accepting the mainstream ‘norm’. I don’t see you as that way at all, but speaking out against it puts the ‘3ib’ where it belongs, and doesn’t shift blame to the other gender.

Hey Mona, I said that because so much of the whining/complaining is directed toward the other gender. If individuals can be the best of who they are as men and women, things get better.

When men hold other men accountable to stop leering at women and treat them with value as human beings rather than future toys or baby-makers, it’s good.

When women consider men as more than a ticket out of the house or someone to try and ‘win’ with outward appearence rather than integrity of heart, it’s good. We women are at times our own worst enemy with gossip and not developing our character because we are too busy developing our wardrobes and hair. We can use positive peer pressure to stop it.

    Hayk ‘usdi
