What are rules?

By: Mona
.......................

Numerous things in life are restrained by rules. Rules on how to communicate with people. Rules in eating at a restaurant. Rules about behaving at someone else’s house. However, why all the rules? Is it to discipline others in a certain way to avoid chaos? Is it a way to represent other’s behavior in a more sophisticated manner? Why all the rules? Seriously. I know from ancient times there were rules. Rules and many rules. For example the 10 commandments. They are great rules. However, they are rules for an entire culture of people to follow. Religious rules are widely accepted and followed by millions of people. It’s a guide to life. However, I am not talking about well known rules. Not laws or regulations either by governments of the world to control anarchy. No.

What I am talking about are made up rules. Rules that our parents have made up because that’s just the way they feel about things. Rules that you have to follow also at certain work places but not others. Rules you have to follow in one classroom but not another. Don’t all these made up rules confuse people? Doesn’t it confuse others or allow others to misunderstand your behavior because you were raised or taught a certain way? It’s like learning a dance for so long to prepare for a concert and suddenly two days before the live performance the routines have changed and you are forced to learn a new one within 48 hours. The behavior and change in actions are detrimental. It’s like one person speaking a language all their lives and suddenly they move to another country and are forced to learn it quickly in order to survive in their new environment. The rules we have lived by are stained in our brains. Why these little rules then? Why can’t we just live the way we want. I understand that we have to base our life on something. But why be constrained with so many things. Every where I go there are rules that are incomprehensible. The most rules I have ever seen in my life are on people’s websites. Don’t comment this. Don’t say that. Don’t take that. The more rules you post the more people will want to defy them! Rules produce unusual rebellious behavior.

All these rules that make me want to scream! I want to just tell everyone that rules are a way for people with so called power to constrain and limit our actions. It’s just makes us want freedom and behave irrationally without thinking! Let us be free from any constraints! Let us all rebel and not let others control us!

I too much agree with you but rules that parent(rules guardian) learn to us is necessary for the life in society and our future life behavior.

I think me that is that a method of controls people in the world because without rules people cannot not comprised I do not know if is because the human nature(culture…religious….laws…) is stupid but when its rules becomes without morals people always rebels whatever place in world.

Me I would say that it rules positive and negative to us of found balance.
