Unfortunately between work...and 2 hobbies...(one of which has turned into a second job on the weekend)..and my automotive pursuits... time seems to be a debilitating factor. I think I would like to go back and study music from a more theoretical aspect...instead of the "winging it" on Fri and Sat nights aspect. Oh well...live and learn as they say. Have a good week. Anyway, don't be surprised that you're going to be asked to do pointless and stupid projects in graduate school. When you get to that level of education (my experience) it's more about the application and the interest stimulation and not, as you said, about the academics. I've seriously taken the easiest exams and have given the most casual presentations during my masters and this is at a top american university. You will likely though come across some super anal professors and classes where you give hour and a half long presentations and the professor will analyze every single word you said, different professors have different teaching philosophies as to the purpose of a graduate course.
