It was rough...especially the chemo...but she got through it.....for her..the reconstruction was worse...took 3 surgeries to clean up the mess...but she is doing wonderfully now... to say it is a punishment is......sad.. thats like saying little children that are burned..or beaten...are being punished... Life is partly what we make of it..partly happinstance..we as humans never know whats coming..ive seen total foul nasty people be very successful..and ive seen the best people in the world ..totally screwed over by life... i certainly dont even TRY to explain it.. It is not just breat, its cervix, ovary, colon,lung and what not. The only way to fight is to pre empt/prevent it. Regular self examination, pap smears and contacting your doctor as soon as you find anything abnormal. You guys in Canada have a good health system whcih empahsises on prevention, think of other places. I have seen so advanced diseases in so young patients to say no bosy is immune. The other way si to have support groups to help others fight this out. May Allah help us all having seen cancer in all ages, sex, color and race;some time it scares and saddens me. Its really sad... After seeing her case I felt that most of the time women don't care about it or they are too scared to go to a dr and get it checked....I just hope that they wake up now and consider this as a imp issue. Ameen! That is so tragic; no matter how old or young the person is, that's just the saddest thing to happen. I am surprised that the mom would even say that to her daughter, especially since every cancer-sufferer I have known has always been the sweetest in their particular family. So the stereotype in my mind is that it's always the innocent ones who get cancer...may Allah open this mother's heart to the added pain she is placing on her daughter, ameen! “May God help her and not let her suffer in the afterlife as she is suffering now in this lifetime.” Ameen!
