Don’t let the title fool you. Actually no, I do mean it. Some Arab girls out there are stupid. To me, my biggest and most annoying pet peeve is Arab girls meeting guys off the net and going across seas to marry them and bringing them back here. Girls bringing guys here? Where is the dignity? Do you have no self respect? No girl should be doing that. I am so sick of hearing stories of girls meeting anonymous guys off the net and “falling in love.” Bull shit. Those girls are only desperately wanting to get married before their 20th or 21st birthday. Their family mentality is so old school that if their daughters don’t get married in her first year or two of her twenties than no one would ever look at her. Also girls want to stay pure but can’t handle the thought of sex anymore and want any guy so badly!
So you know that a decent educated guy over here won’t marry you because you just finished high school and you have no career aspirations or future but being a hatching egg for the idiot’s off springs? You want to have dumb kids? Sure go ahead. It’s better then having bastard children. At least they will have a father name to fall back to if you marry him.
Why am I being so angry? Well, cause I am sick of hearing stories of those stupid girls who are barely 19 or 20 years old and divorced. Don’t you think a girl is better off not married and being in her mid or late 20′s or even early 30′s than being a divorced young girl? Seriously, what is worse?
This morning I heard from my mom a story of a girl who’s wedding we went to about 2 years ago. Lovely Syrian Mohajabah girl who was 19 at the time. She met an Egyptian guy off the internet. She fell in love. Never met him face to face, and she dragged her mom and dad all the way to Egypt to meet him and marry him. No engagement, nothing, a wedding right away. Do you see anything wrong? Many people would say no, but others know the truth.
Her parents are very nice people and obviously care about their daughter’s happiness. So they did the immigration papers for him and brought him here. If you are married you can bring your spouse from any where, and it will take about 4 or 5 months to process the papers. That’s cool. If they want to do that, that’s their choice. Oh wait, he didn’t pay for immigration papers, she (her family) did.
Where to live? Her parents re-did the basement of their home to be an apartment for her daughter and husband with a separate door and everything. When you are young and starting off your life, it’s always nice to get family help. Hmm ok…. From the wife’s family? How manly!
Well, the new bride wanted her family and friends here in Canada to celebrate her happiness too, so what did her parents do? They threw a huge ass wedding party here too in a huge ass hall with over 800 people. Hmm.. ok.
During the speeches and stuff, the new groom thanked everyone and felt bad that his family could not be here and he was here alone, but this is his new family now. He promised that he would love the girl and would never leave her till death do them part. Yah.. right. I heard too much of that crap before.
The past two years, the new groom was given the opportunity by her family to get a part time job and get educated at a local college studying some technical two year degree. Normal. He didn’t have many expenses such as rent, food, maybe even clothes. Who knows.
After he got his diploma and the wife waiting for him to finish and she was ready to have children now since her husband is done school and she was happy, then out of no where he got bored of his life. He didn’t want to live in her parent’s home anymore and he is bored of being with her and having such a daily boring routine. He was bored and he left. He didn’t want this life.
He divorced her and left the province to start a new single life with a new career somewhere else.
Can we say that Arab guys can be ass holes sometimes and only marry girls from North American to get citizenship, education, and a bonus a free place to stay and a girl too to share their beds with?
Men are ass holes. 
Actually, I got several proposals in the past from family friends back home asking for my hand as long as I bring them to Canada. I laughed hysterically and I told my parents if they ever dared even bring up the subject of me importing some ass hole who is cheap to come here him self and start from scratch then I would seriously leave the house! My dad wouldn’t allow it anyway. He said, “if he is not highly educated from here, has a job, and money to start a life then he is not worth it!”
I told them I don’t have time for this shit. I told my mom this morning my opinion about the matter. I told her it is cause of those Arabs here with their backwards mentality thinking that if a girl is in her early 20′s and not engaged or married by then, then finding a guy off the net is easy and safe proof. That Arab girls here who don’t want to be educated and just want to marry anyone are afraid that no one would look at them as they get older. Fuck that. GET EDUCATED for goodness sake and be something useful to society. When you are as educated as the stupid man you are marrying, then he would think twice about leaving you. Two incomes? Smart girl? Reliable? Has a great future? A guy won’t leave you for that!
I rather be alone for the rest of my life then having to marry a cheap ass moron who just wants to come to this country!

To the women who do this internet eloping98% of the time it never works out and the person who is in USA or Canada is a lot of the times in for a shock when the person comes to the Americas and statrs misbehaving and doing their own thing once they got their papers…it is sad. This happens in a lot of other societies.

hey mona, i like your article, very interesting, at least it opens my mind re ARAB men, but i guess in every culture there are “assholes men” and “stupid women” so in other words you can find it everywhere. Anyway I’ve been to Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and KSA, I’ve noticed that Arab men from KSA are totally more stricter and they treat their women with no importance at all…PEACE!

But you know some times it works the same for guys too , what i mean if a guy looking for a nice good girl and he deiced to marry one from back home(btw i do not this idea) and he brings her and establish a new life and dose the papers for her with that things he doing it for her she might be a a bitch and leave him for a another one …i saw these things from people i know her in Ottawa .So my things it can happen from both sides . And believe I’m a civil engineer guy in my last year @ school and its really hard to find a nice girl ,Im not saying there is none but its hard to find one who she still think Arabic @ least (you what i mean !!) and i do not want to go back home and do the arrange marriage shit

We can look at statistics and determine what works and does not work. I can say as an American, innocent love can at times be so much more appealing, than the love the media portrays. I have dated many women. When I say many I mean something you lose track of. One of the things that the Arab Culture or even the Islamic religion emphasizes is saving yourself for that special person. The thing that should supersede everything is the rights a person has in determining a soul mate, especially one whom you think would be the ideal candidate…
I can tell you a woman should never ever get with a guy then try to mold him into a man. It will backfire every time. A woman with self respect will work on herself only and only marry a man who deserves her. Good for you for being willing to wait for a suitable man instead of trying to make one.
I’m a Arab man and I have to agree with Mona. And by the way poster named Awartany you are a idiot, the way you try attacking Mona is proof that men from the middle east are controlling and think that they are better than us men here in the states. Arab men are not only jealous of their women but they are jealous of the men living here in the states! Anyways, what I want to say is that I have seen to many arab girls play games with guys when looking to get married and the guy just can’t take it anymore and leaves her. What ends up happening is that the girl ends up getting older and age like in her 30′s and is still not married. Thats when she becomes desperate because she realizes that she is not a little girl anymore and that men will probably start to look at the younger girls and ignore her and she might end up now having to marry and “older guy” and that makes her desperate and she just ends up marrying anyone at that point. Arab girls need to not be so picky when it comes to marriage, if she has a guy right in front of her face that has money, education, and a job. Some times girls like to go too far and look for a six back of abbs and good hair on a guy, and a tall guy, and that is ok but you girls can’t get all of that and a guy with money, and education, and a job, and more than all of that a guy that you can depend on to be by your side for ever. So stop being so picky, because guys will move on and not marry you Arab girls, they will pick another race to marry, arab guys do not have to marry arab girls! Also, to the arab men, mostly the men oversease just looking to get married to come to the states, you guys are jokes, and you give the arab men in the states a bad reputation.
