But I'm not planning on going. I think there's a point in everyone's life where they have to start using their own judgement to make decisions. People may not always be their own best judge, but it's a learning process, and it's especially important for parents to allow young adults to do that. Trust them to make wise decisions, and when they make a mistake, give them the benefit of the doubt. That's probably something your friend's parents need to consider.
