Age Creeps Up
Today, a friend of mine from Elementary School that I found on ugly blue Facebook was chatting with me about life. She asked me, “don’t you feel lonely? We are getting old and no one wants us.” (She is gorgeous by the way and doing her Phd.)
My birthday is a week before hers. She is Jan 1st, 81, and mine is Dec 23rd, 80. So I told her, “I don’t feel lonely at all. I learned to stop feeling lonely.”
She said, “how? How? Teach me!”
I told her, “well, I just saw the positives of being alone. No headaches, no heart aches, no one to treat me like crap, and no one to bug me about everything I do. I just like being alone. I can be my own self and I don’t have to worry about anyone.”
She said, “I know, but don’t you feel lonely at all? Don’t you want love”
I said, “not really. What is love really? It lost all meaning and I don’t believe that such a thing exists in our modern world. People act selfish and they only look for number one, them selves. Anyways, my life is too busy and I keep my self busy on purpose to not think about these things.”
I guess that got the point across to her that I am just busy and I don’t care much about these things anymore. I spend my time writing on my blog and checking out other bloggers and contributing to various blog communities. I browse the net a lot to find new innovative ways to maximize my presence on the internet. Or I just play my Nintendo DS all day! :lol:
So my birthday is one week from today, and it is also the two year Anniversary of my blog. Next Sunday will be great! I can’t wait!

Funny, I sometimes feel lonely myself. Probably because I am single *shrugs* but who cares lol! I am free.
As for feeling old, I don’t know, I sometimes feel old and sometimes feel like I’m child again

I am 39 and do not feel old. I feel wiser due to my experiences but not old. I also am single by choice and yeah sometimes I feel lonely but I also like my alone time and I go out once in a while. I think that society has these negative connotations on single women unlike with men. If we are unmarried past the age of 25 then our expiration date has crept up and we are no longer fresh and useful to society which is a load of crap.
Nothing wrong with being single and if you find the right guy great and if not then whose out there to say your life is a loss because of it??? There is more to life than marriage….we all have something to contribute regardless………..
