Won’t you miss them?
Yesterday, I was at the mall with my 12 year old sister. The mall near my house is shrinking in stores. What they are doing is moving all the popular stores downstairs and closing down all the not so popular ones. So it is pretty much ghost town upstairs. I was walking there with my sister and I said, “wouldn’t it be great if they open up businesses and stuff here. I can get a job here and it is walking distance from home! It will be awesome.”
My sister looked at me with a shock on her face and said, “why?? Why you want another job? Don’t you like the people at work? They sound so cool and nice.”
I said, “yeah, but we can’t stay at the same job forever. We all move on to different things in life.”
She said, “no way. If I had a job, I want to stay forever because I would like the people I work with and I would miss them.”
I said, “yah… well, but we can’t stay at the same job forever. This is reality.”
She said, “you will miss them. You really will and you will be sad.”
Will I miss them? Is that why I am still stuck at my job and I find it really hard to leave?
Sometimes I think kids are too smart and analyze life better than an adult.

While it’s important to like and get along with people at work, it seems a lot of work problems are caused by people getting to caught up in those things.
After all, it’s work. It’s not high school.
Yah.. I have noticed it with many people. They just come to work hoping that people like them and want to be friends with them first. It is like a high school mentality. To me, for a job, I just want others to like my work. That’s all. Real friends you meet outside of the work place.
You might miss them, you might not. Its very hard walking away from a job, but you have to do whats best for you.
What if your blog starts making enough money to support your needs? Wouldn’t you love to quit work and write full time?
I wish my blog can support my needs.. Unfortunately I don’t make that much money. Just enough to cover the hosting costs.
yes. You will miss everyone even your crazy boss. :S Before resigning I was too excited that I won’t be seeing him again, but now I can’t but keep asking my ex colleagues about him!! life is weird!
