I get asked this a lot by people. How did I manage to save so much money and still go out and shop and pay bills and stuff. Well, I won’t call my self lucky in this situation nor do I get paid so much for being a programmer. On the contrary, I just learned the simple task of managing money.

How?

Umm.. I spent a lot of years of my life where my family had no income or little income. Since I started my job and was hired on full time, my parents kept nagging and telling me, “save your money. Don’t over spend. You never know what the future holds.”

So I had lots of ups and downs in my life. I also witnessed others being in financial problems to the point they are broke and collections are after them. I have seen people also who can’t manage to save a penny by the end of the month because they want to live a high extravagant life. Then people argue with me and say, “you only live once. So enjoy it.” The funny part is that I do enjoy it, but I enjoy it in a smart way.

So how do I do it?

I am a human being. I have basic needs. I am 27, but I keep telling my self, I am only 18 years old financially. I only had basic needs when I was 18, so why would it change now? I am single and I live at home. I don’t have any large financial obligations, so why should I live a high life for?

We all have basic needs to get by in life. We slowly start wanting great big things or spoil our selves once in a while. But why should we do it all the time?

So what did I do?

I just learned to save 35 – 55% of my salary every month. That’s with paying all the bills (credit card and student loans, etc) and recreational stuff (shopping ). I know it is hard for people to save that much, but think about it. What are you spending on a lot in a month that you can live without? Daily coffee? Eating out a lot? Movies every weekend? Shopping too much and buying extravagant things?

Just cut down on unnecessary things for a couple of months and see what you can save. Believe me, you are only broke or can’t manage your money because you comply with capitalism! Pants that cost $200 are the same as those that cost $20! Why are they the same? They both cover your ass in the damn cold!

I can’t seem to get over my self. I want to have a normal life again. It has been too long. I am trying really hard to change who I am by the way I talk and think. I just can’t. I just get told that I am traumatized from the past. Maybe I am. Maybe my life thus far have really been closed because I wanted it closed. I wanted people to stay away from me and not talk to me because I have nothing to say. I am just afraid to be me.

Who am I anyways? I lost my identity long time ago. I became an emotional person that I can’t hold my thoughts and opinions to my self anymore. I tried so hard and really that’s why I made this blog. So I don’t have to say anything to anyone and just write it out. That way I won’t hurt anyone or say anything I will regret.

I just don’t know if anyone likes the real me because I don’t even know who I am anymore.

Is it me, or do I feel lucky that I actually have a NICE NICE boss? Seriously, I talk to other people and my friends, and I feel bad for them because they have awful bosses. If I had a boss like them I would have seriously quit. My sanity at work has been maintained because my boss actually operates like one. My boss put up with me for almost 6 years. He should get an honorary award for his patience! :lmao: Yet other bosses, seriously, should be ashamed of them selves for abusing their power. It’s ridiculous!

And I still send it around to Arabs celebrating their birthdays cause it is too funny! :lol:

Random Thoughts

I have been very mellow lately and calm. I can’t even call my self THAT rebellious anymore. (WHATEVER! :laugh: ) Only thing that makes me boil from anger is work, but lately it has been fine. Fine to the point that really my co-workers don’t talk to me much and some of them I don’t even see for 2 or 3 days and they are 10 feet away! It’s like they sit in the other office and are SO focused. I wish I had more of the ability to chat or talk to them, but their conversations to me are very limited. Nothing to really talk about and they really have no interest in talking to me. At times I regret not being nicer to them and more social, but what am I to talk about with guys with completely different interests than me? At times they don’t even listen to me and I feel like they ignore me on purpose and change the subject. I can’t make up conversations or things to talk about. I am SO boring. I am the most boring person on earth and that is why I have a really active blog where I talk a lot about me. And I know ME does not interest people at all in my little world of work and home.

However, that’s not the case. Yes, I caved in ladies and gentlemen. It is beyond unbelievable that I am shocked my self cause I did it. I am actually talking to a guy! Well chatting to a guy who lives a couple of hours than me, but I thought, “why not? I will give it a chance.” He is actually a decent human being who is not a chauvinistic ass of an Arab. He is a year and a half older, very nice to talk to, likes my unfunny sarcasm. He doesn’t think I am 100% crazy but actually normal. Wow. I am still shocked. Someone out there thinks I AM NORMAL! :O

I need to make NEW friends and talk to nice people! I need a change in my life and different new people to talk to. Is that so bad? Am I doing anything wrong? :huh: I mean common. I am CHANGING! It’s beyond unbelievable that I shock my self sometimes.

Oh by the way, DON’T ASK ME any stupid questions about him. I am not going to answer them and that’s none of the blog’s business. Well, none for today. Maybe tomorrow. :whee:

By the way, this post has far too many emoticons. I changed the ones I got and added a few more. But believe me, some day in the vast distant future I will change my blog’s theme. A couple of days ago I renewed my blog’s ownership till 2012! So I will be blogging inshallah till then. I was thinking of just letting it expire this year and move on with my life and blog under a different name or even not write anymore, but you know, if people actually like me for who I am and read my blog and still think I am sane, then they are Aces in my book of life! Is this blog a book of my life? Maybe just a small part.
