I keep getting asked or put on the spot

By: Mona

Google Buzz

Over the course of the past few years, I kept being asked by various people if I don’t like Jews due to the fact that I am Palestenian. I keep saying, “do I want people to dislike me for being a Muslim and calling me a terrorists because of what a group of uncaring hateful people have done to ruin our image?”

I don’t understand why the most prejudice stereotyping is based on religion. Religion has been around for centuries. How religion has evolved and what people have done and justified their action based on religion is questionable and truly not part of any religion.

Your religion is a moral guidance and a way to worship God and that’s it. Any political or historical event that triggered religious hate should not effect any person who is not involved in these situations. If the media and other news outlets have a biased view of an event, that does not mean that we, as educated people who strive to find our own answers should only believe that part of the story. Try to be smarter for a bit.

I grew up in an environment where I was forced fed and brain washed to believe that because I am Palestenian, I should dislike Jews for what they did to us. As I grew up, I kept hearing the word Zionist and I kept asking, “what’s the difference?” Aaah.. politics, different view points. Religion was just at outside factor used an excuse. So the problems are not only based on religion, but damn politics. Typical.

So really, if you want to go back in history, many Muslims till this day dislike Christians as well because of something that happened centuries ago; war with the European Crusades. It’s funny that I met a few Muslims who still think this way. Then I get the inevitable question if I like Jews or not. Like is that even answerable anymore? So I just say, “there is a difference between Jews and Zionists.” And I leave it at that. I don’t feel like arguing something that I have absolutely no control over. Sparking a never ending debate is pointless. Just end it there. Be neutral and be careful of what you are saying. I know many of you would be like :wtf: is wrong with her? She is PALESTENIAN! I am like ya, but I live in a multicultural country called Canada. If I have the right to be treated like anyone else, then why should I discriminate against others?

I actually wrote this post because I keep getting a bunch of people posting comments saying that I shouldn’t be writing this way and care more about the Palestenian problems and the 60 year anniversary of occupation next month.

This is a message to everyone who think I am using my website for the wrong reasons. I DON’T CARE! I can write whatever I want when I feel like it. My blog is NOT a political blog. My blog is NOT a Palestenian cultural blog. My blog is ABOUT ME and what I am thinking TODAY! I am so random and I have many opinions about anything, so don’t FORCE me or OBJECT to my writing. Do I do that to you? NO!

In conclusion, I LIKE PEOPLE TO TREAT ME THE WAY I TREAT THEM! Is that wrong?

No its not wrong. Plus, me, as an Arab, I dislike Israelis, not Jews. Theres a difference. I know Jews that are from other countries, living normally and minding their own business… just like me, so why should I hate them?

But Israel, as a nation, yeah thats what we are allowed to dislike. And there are Israelis from other religions as well, they’re not inly Jews. I know thats a kind of discrimination, but come on, for a nation that did all that throughout the past 60 years, hatred isn’t even enough.

I agree. One person cannot represent a whole, everyone is different. Most of the coolest people I have met have been from different races, and different cultural backgrounds. But I fear the world as a whole will never understand this, and thus the spiral of childish hate spirals on…

I hear ya’! There are only two things I can’t stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people’s cultures… and the British!

Yes, it’s your personal blog, where you can write any thing that you want to express, you are not forcing anyone to follow what are you saying or thinking it’s just your thorough.

In my cause how can I say other religious/ people/ culture! are good or bad, even though I only know little bit about them or not. There is something that’s why peoples follow them. Even I am Hindu, but I only know little about it I read only some of the religious book. I think at first we all are human beings, why we describe them or categories among this and that….. I read some of the Buddhist book there I found Buddha says… and try to follow it.

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

I enjoyed reading your article and I totally agree with you, what you write is up to you and if people choose to read it it is up to them. We are all Gods creatures on this Earth and religion is a moral guide only. I am tolerant of any religion as long as it is non violent and does not try to force it’s ideas on to me.

Let me say I enjoyed reading your article like most did and I dont totally agree with you, I think thats one of the reasons why palestinian conflict will never ever not in a million year will be solved while there still are people like you who think that they are related to that land and doesnt now how to feel about the people who stole and forced their fathers to immigrate and suffer what other nations has never experinced before in the history of menkind. simply your political view is too much ” Liberal” .with all your soft and sweet views about how to feel about jews or whatever its never enough as god said in the Quran (wlan trtha ank al-yhood wla ansara, hata t-tba milthm).

It’s your blog write about whatever you want good/bad and don’t ever let others dictate what you think… God’s greatest gift was free agency and the ability to think for ourselves. It’s a shame that so many can’t think for themselves. If anything your blog perpetuates free thinkers everywhere. You are fine the way you are.
(been a while since I’ve been in here, like the new look)

“…what other nations has never experinced before in the history of menkind.”

Wrong. People have experienced stuff like this through out all of time. Since man has decided to take control, people have been forced, murdered and exiled from thier homes by greed and ego. The Aztecs with the Spanish Conquistadors, the Natives in America with the European Settlers… the list goes on and on.

An example, all the Natives that occupied North America before the Europeans colonized. Natives lost pretty much all of thier land, and were slaughtered by the masses because the Europeans didn’t want to understand them, they just dominated the land for themselves.

I have Cherokee blood and they (Cherokee) were forced to leave their homes, see “Trail of Tears”, those that fled to the mountains were executed for remaining on thier home land, even those that wanted peace. The Natives who fought among each other banded together to protect themselves from the European invaders, but violence was not the answer. They were all killed and forced to flee.

But with that being said, I don’t hate present day Europeans or Americans for what happened, I blame those who slaughtered the innocent people just so they could have the land all to themselves. But I would never kill them for it, my soul is far too valuable to throw away for their blood to be spilt.

No matter what religion – murder is wrong. I’m not saying losing your whole family to random aerial bombadment is fine… it’s not. Its sick and inhumane. But fighting back solves nothing, even if you “win” in whatever war it may be, some will survive with vengence and will return, thus continuing the spiral towards Hell on Earth. It is not our job to judge, we have not been given that power from God, because that is God’s job. God is the one which created us, and has the authority to punish us. All men are equal, if a book says different its trash. Religions were created by man, therefor can be broken.

But no matter how many times it can be repeated some will never understand and in the end they may be damned for it. So believe whatever you want. If you feel violence is the answer then please let me know how that works out when you meet your maker, I’m very curious to know the end result.

Its time for this world to grow up and mature, I’m sick of it. May the 2012 prophecies hold true, may this world end and a new begin. Violence among ourselves must end.

My grammar and spelling may suck but hopefully the point gets across, I got a B-Day party to attend. Later :)

Just saying there is a line between Jews and Zionist – and to say Zionist care then really what is happing in Palestine is also caring?
… Not pointing – just a jolly discussion as I’m bored and can’t close my eyes
If I am wrong then I take everything back
