The never ending question
It’s the never ending question. la la la. It goes on and on my friend. la la la.
I honestly don’t understand people in this world of mine. I think it has to do with the cultural one sided perception of how I have to be and how my life is in Canada. I remember a few years back when I was in my early 20′s and all I heard from Arabic girls was that guys back home think they are bad, rude, and have no morals because they live in the Western world. That I didn’t understand because I am always the girl who is stuck in the middle of it all. I don’t really care much about the Western world I live in, nor do I care much about the Arabic world which I came from. I just live my life normally and I never segregate my self to any group. I love all kinds of people.
Why can’t people understand that?
I think the biggest problem is this word rebellious that people don’t understand. This oxymoron phrase that I used for my site that is a complete outrage. Instead of reading and trying to understand, they make absolute illogical judgments and expect me to take their questions seriously.
Today’s question which was like yesterdays and every other month in the past is:
“Why you say you are just Arabic, aren’t you Muslim too? Why don’t you say that!”
I used to have a problem with people saying that since I am Palestenian that I HAVE to talk about Palestine. Now this never ending question. People question my religion. That’s your choice. Honestly I don’t have to preach about my religion or say every other day, “since I am Muslim but rebellious I should be going to hell,” just to satisfy your perception of me. No, I am Muslim and I follow Islam and I honestly keep religion to my self. That’s HOW it is supposed to be!
Since you people insist that I should talk about my life as an Arabic-Palestenian-Muslim girl in Canada, then here are my words of wisdom for the day:
“THOU SHALL NOT SEARCH FOR ARABIC GIRL PORN ON THY SITE THEN ASK WHAT THY RELIGION IS AND HOW LIFE IS IN THE WESTERN WORLD FOR A MUSLIM ARABIC GIRL! I CONDEMN THOU TO HELL THOU FOOLS! BURN BABY BURN!”
I could have just said, “fuck you” instead, but it is sacrilegious and so rebellious! However, I didn’t want to give the wrong impression. :think: That is so NOT me.

Ignoring the whole hypocricy thing from those people(Although its creepy) . I just find it hard to understand why some choose to identify themselves through religion. Isnt religion something you practice, not what you are?! But that aside, People who refuse to understand that arabs who lived abroad are normal, are indeed a lost cause in the first place(for both local and outside relationships). If only those people understand that in the west, there are people who are more religious, more patriotic and who speak and write arabic better than most arabs ive seen who lived in saudi, bahrain etc.. etc..
Ran – I agree with you 110%! Many Arabs I met who just came from the Arab world can’t even speak Arabic at all. They mix it with English words all the time that the conversation goes from Semi-Arabic to English-Arabic to Only English within 3 sentences!

I had this problem with many horny visitors since the day I made this blog. People are so stupid!
I, too, love it when you open fire on those people! They deserve it. About religion, its something between me and God, its none of anyones business whatsoever!
I hate those labeling ignorants! I wrote a post about that a while ago, and people didn’t have the guts to comment on it. Instead, they sent me emails dissing me!
The way I see it, is that you are a human being. A person. An entity. You could be Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Atheist, or worship bugs for all I care… I just don’t! If you’re good to me then you’re a good person. Period.

Maybe this is my western views or just the fact of what the media tells me what Arabs should be like… But you have now given me a better image of Arabs and Arab culture then anyone I have met (And I know many Arabs… The UK is full)
I just wish that everyone felt the same as you do… If they did I am sure we have have less problems.
