He said, “I wish I got more time to get to know you.”

One thing that I hate is two faced people. I can’t stand them with every tiny being of my soul!

Today, was like any other day. No, it was believe me, filled with nothing, and I did nothing, but the “new boss” insisted to take us out to lunch for my farewell. Obviously, he was paying, and we went to a normal priced restaurant and we each got the most expensive plate. We took advantage of the situation indeed.

It was a very strange lunch. My co-workers, allah yikhaleehom, talk so much and they can start any conversation about anything. They can entertain them selves with any topic about anything. Obviously, it didn’t interest “him” much and he wasn’t engaged in it. Then after the mediocre feast, he said something that made me want to reply back with a diss or two, but I thought, he bought me lunch, and I was hungry.

He said, “well, I wish I got more time to get to know you.” I heard that and a million thoughts permeated my brain faster than women lined up infront of a department store waiting to run through the doors at 7 am for the major 85% sale!!

Here is his problem over the past 5 months.

1. He has been the so-called “boss” since April. That’s one, two, three, four, five months!
2. This was the first time we had lunch with him ever.
3. This was the longest period of time he spent talking to us.
4. He never bothered with what we did. He just kept asking, “is it done?” However, he never ever looked at how our software looks and the functionality of each one at all.
5. He fears us.

So, he is sorry for not spending more time getting to know me, eh? He never bothered, and at one point he questioned my skills by saying, ‘I heard you are good with graphic design and stuff, prove it?”

All I can say, “thank you God for giving me the patience to stay this long with uncaring awful management. Thank you for giving me the willpower to quit before I lost every ounce of sanity I had left in me. And thank you God, for hopefully having a better lunch tomorrow with my old boss where it will be normal and like I am really leaving a job because he actually talks and cares about us. It will be a proper good bye. Amen!!”

Glad you enjoyed your lunch. Some people are better left in their cocoons. Will he wake up one day? I doubt it.
