Why am I attracted to Geeks?

By: Mona
.......................

Google Buzz

I think the problem why I have been single for such a long time and I find conversations with guys a bit dull is that I keep trying to look outside the box. My realm of expertise in life is software, computers and anything technology related. So when I talk to guys, if they are not geeky enough for me and understand my language, then I will become frustrated and just lose interest.

Now, since I am not doing anything and unemployment took a new toll in my life, I just do a lot of thinking. I see a lot of people because I don’t sit at home, and I have been engaged in eavesdropping on people as you discovered in yesterday’s post. I just happen to be at the right place at the right time.

So one thing I am learning now about being a better writer is that to get great content to write about in my boring little blog, is to just sit outside, go to the park or go to campus and listen to people. You can say I am doing some field study, and God is my witness, GEEKS are a lot more entertaining in my books! I can sit and listen to them for hours and never get bored. Well, other people like yesterday are a bit on my dear God why you made so many humans ignorant list.

Haha. So you say your sick of guys hitting and then you say this? Most people who read blogs are prob geeks of some type..

I wish I could find myself a Geek girlfriend… Sadly no dating site in the UK has a geek tickbox as personality type.

But have you ever pictured a life with two geeks? Just sitting on computers maybe designing something… I don’t think there would be much talking… would there?

I will admit I have the best of convos with geeks. I can sit there for hours talking about how Google is slowly overtaking the world and how I think it could be a superpower in the future… Just geeky things :)

Usually your better half is someone who shares your interests with.. I can find a million conversations to talk to with geeks like me.. but as long as they are world knowledgeable and not just computer geeks.. must be techie and just smart too!

just sit outside, go to the park or go to campus and listen to people. <—- In Canada unlike the US, you are allowed to listen to all frequencies. For about $1000, you can get an excellent radio scanner that will pick up all frequencies including cel phones, cordless phones, and someone’s wireless internet enabled toaster. Just a thought. Obsessive boyfriends have been known to buy their gf a cel phone and themselves a scanner at the same time, of course it was all coincidental!

I would rather see real human reactions than spy on people that way.

I wonder what two geeks offspring would be like. Would they have little geeks running around the house saying “beam me up Scotty”.

The great thing about non-geek girlfriends is they have social lives that you can “acquire” without much effort.

In fact, you “Have” to go to parties now and again. Which is kind of nice, if you don’t miss anything important on the TV.

After a hard day slaving over a silicon chip, last thing I need is more geek talk.

It’s natural tendency of human beings to congregate with equality..Same is the case with me (someone whose high school is hogwart’s school of h4cking).Me and my girlfriend cracking into CIA…sitting on a cold moonlit rooftop is my idea of perfect first date !!

Hey, here I was thinking I’m single because nobody is attracted to geeks, and you’re single because you are ONLY attracted to geeks. So, [insert pickup line].

(I’m only being sleazy because I came from your Twitter, where you said internet geeks are hitting on you. Wouldn’t wanna break the pattern. :)
