In other words, gossip. Ladies and gentleman, tonight I shall discuss the biggest sin known to man, gossip. Since I am an Arab representative, and I tend to speak on behalf of Arab ideology, I will not reiterate that again today, and assume we all understand that I am talking about everyone in the world, especially Arabs.

One thing that I never understood growing up is why was I taught morals and religion. I kept thinking that it is a good thing. Learning all these guidelines to a better life. However, I never see it being applied. Gossip is one of the biggest sins known to man. It’s a big sin in all religions because you are hurting someone’s reputation and may effect their lives. You are NOT to speak of someone in their absence even if it is good news. You are not to talk. You have no reason to judge anyone. Who are you to judge really?

Gossip is a problem in our society. A big problem. It is such a problem that people who know me know for a fact that I hate Arabic older women and their presence around me because of this devilish chattering. Don’t even get me started on the evil eye or jinx or as we say in Arabic, hasad. Gossip leads to such evilness and people get hurt by it. God mentioned it in the Quran that you should not talk about other people! People jinx others! The eye has power that is beyond looking.

So don’t gossip, and don’t talk ill of people. What are you going to gain in your lifetime if you did? Ah? Recognition? Superiority? A higher status in society? Or you rather have the devil permeate your soul and only think bad of others and talk shit about them? You tell me!

I hate hate hate gossip. I hate women who do and even men. I can’t stand it and I have no idea why it keeps going on, and why they preach to us to not do it. Yet, they are the ones who are doing it and causing harm to other people. Why do you gossip? You tell me!

I keep listening to this song “ya el-romoush” (the eyelashes) by Ruby, an Egyptian singer. It’s her latest music video. I just like this style of music. It’s nice. No?

My taste of Music

Every time someone speaks to me and wonders what I am doing in my life, they throw this phrase, “why don’t you do something productive?” Ok? I think to my self, so if I am beyond weak, my brain is a roller coaster and is a bit all over the place, and the last thing I can think of that takes more than 2 brain cells to compute is doing something productive.

I don’t feel like thinking about it now. I really don’t. I don’t know what this productive thing they are thinking of. If I watch TV, isn’t that productive? If I read a book, isn’t that productive? Writing and maintaining websites, isn’t that productive? Being a social active internet person who knows all the latest news, isn’t that productive? WHY DOES HAVING A JOB AND WORKING THE ONLY THING LABELED IN OUR SOCIETY AS BEING PRODUCTIVE?

Some people say I am wasting my talents. I say I am enhancing them by reading and getting to know what’s out there. When I wasn’t sick I was actually exploring new realms of life. Trying to understand what my talents are. What talents do I have? What can I, as a girl, as an Arab girl living in Canada, do to be part of this society and become something important. Maybe that’s the problem, I always wanted to be something important and recognizable within my society. Maybe that’s why I maintain this site with all my heart. It’s because I am doing something important. I am known to stand for something and have my voice heard about issues that people don’t know how to discuss. Isn’t that productive?

I am craving more fruits. That’s all I have been eating, and sweet savory grapes make me sleepy and my brain numb. Eating is also productive… because it keeps you healthy.
