Kids can be racist too
Did I ever mention that I have the ultimate migraine catalyst younger sister? Maybe I did a few dozen times. I stopped counting after 150. Anyways, we all established the fact that she is not only annoying, but has a damn sharp tongue that I want to use to cut salami into fine pieces. That sharpness is a horrible tool when I am being attacked by her, but mighty dangerous when dealing with the rest of the world. Mine is getting a little dull. Needs sharpening so I can deal with some stupid commentors.
So, we all know that my sister talks a lot. I mean a lot! The moment she gets back from school she has to recite everything she did, including the most important conversations that took place. I ignore her obviously, and I try to sway the conversation to a more shallow selfish one that involves me instead.
This is how it went:
Awesome me: Look, my hair is like a horse’s tail now.
Devil in disguise sister: Oh my GOD! A girl today made fun of my hair and called it horse hair too!
I looked at her and opened my mouth to speak but got cut off.
Devil in disguise sister: I told her it is better than having blond hair.
Awesome me: But you have really light brown hair that looks highlighted! Don’t make fun of people.
Devil in disguise sister: She then told me it was better than being an ARAB!
Awesome me: What the hell?
Devil in disguise sister: I told her being an Arab is better than being a dumb blond!
That’s when I knew she had a never ending racist fight, and I told her to go away because I didn’t want to hear how it ended.
She maybe very smart in school, but that tongue of her needs to be dulled down. She doesn’t know that when someone says something as racist as that, to just shut up or beat them down. I support the beat down, because I am tired of idiots raising idiots and permeating their idiotic thoughts to the world.
Maybe I should have taught my sister a lesson instead of kicking her out of my room. Oh well, does it look like I care? One day she will learn the wisdom of the world all by her self. Maybe then she will end up having a blog to complain about the idiots in the world, just like me!

Yes, she should speak up and tell the girl that is a racist remark. Chances are it won’t do any good because racism runs very deep, unfortunately.
She is young and she will eventually learn how best to deal with such situations.
The child is still too young to be a racist. Given the right path and the right direction with the help of a responsible elder the child will be a non-racist.
The child is still too young to be a racist. Given the wrong path and the wrong direction with the help of an irresponsible elder the child will be a racist skinhead.
P.S. I have a very dark sense of humour.
tell her that racism is like a dung beetle. the more you roll it around the more shit you pick up. and then later on you hafta eat that shit.
Hi, I love ur blog. Anyway, here’s my take—yeah, kids can be racists too. I encountered some of them. I even posted an entry in my blog entitled, “Only my White People Can Come”–uttered by a 5 year old girl .
