No. I was not crying.

By: Mona
.......................

I woke up about an hour ago, and looked in the mirror and my heart almost stopped. My right eye is bloody red. It is hot, itchy, and hurts like hell. I usually get those nasty bloody eyes from time to time, but this time it HURTS!

Someone jinxed me yesterday. It’s not funny. I can only see with one eye! I am barely typing as we speak. Well, one is good enough. I knew one day I will go blind, but it’s a little too soon! Couldn’t it wait till I was 28.4 years old! Blah!!

Maybe I should go find some eye drops now or put a bag of peas on it.

Mona, Do you wear contacts??? If it’s just a red eye, then use Visine…always works! There is also Visine for contacts (if applicable). If it’s pink eye, use Similason Pink Eye Relief! ;)

    Feel better!

@NY arab – I don’t wear contacts. I can’t because I have very sensitive eyes and no way I am putting something like that in them. So I just wear glasses most of the day, especially when I am reading.

@Lynn – thanks. I put Visine in it, and it BURNED! I think my eye is a little bit better now. Not 100% white yet!

OH MY GOD what is that? conjunctivitis maybe? that can be caused by a wide array of bacterial/viral or even parisitic infections. Ocular allergy? Do you have a history of allergies?

I suggest that you don’t just pop eye drops in your eye it could actually make it worse….go to the eyedoc you can just walk-in.

@asoom – now you show up. Where were you this morning when I typed this post and decided to keep my eye swimming in eye drops? lol My eye is actually just as bad as this morning. Drops don’t work at all. If this won’t go way by tomorrow, I am going to the doc!

    Solution:
    (1) Get rid of stress and kill its sources.
    (2) Wash the pillow cover more often.
    (3) Consult a doctor.

I had something like that happen some years ago. My eye was red, itchy, and useless for a few days. Only dim light didn’t hurt it.

I finally went to the eye doctor. He looked at it for a while. Then he called in another eye doctor in his office and she looked at it for a while. They both sort of shrugged their shoulders and guessed it was some sort of viral infection. They weren’t sure what, though.

He gave me a prescription for some steroid eye drops, and by the next day I was much better.

Get it checked out. They eyes are not things to be messed with.

There is no point is just worrying. You should better consult a physician or a medical doctor and soon.

    hi There Mona
that’s weird, I had the same thing or sort of the same thing happen to me yesterday in the afternoon.

I was taking a nap in the afternoon and I woke up and my right eye was so hot …it hurt to open it up fully.

I rushed to the washroom and used cold water for about a couple of minutes to rinse .

    it was a weird experience.

You may have some type of eye infection. I would see a doctor about your eyes. I wouldn’t put you fingers up to your eyes unless you wash them first. That is how you can get an infection in your eyes if you rub you eyes with germy hands.
