It’s all in their heads
I blog hop sometimes, and I skim through 10 – 15 posts within 3 minutes of each blog that I have not read in a while. I usually read the titles and the first paragraph. However, I am the last person to comment, unless I find something worth my time to read and comment on. It’s not that I have particular interests. On the contrary, I am interested in everything. Everything that can keep my brain active and knowledgeable is what I enjoy the most. The internet is probably the best world wide invention next to sliced cheese. However, with the internet comes two bad things: porn and bloggers.
Yes, I classify my self as part of the bad blogger crew because I was sucked into something that was never defined. What I have been doing in the past 3 years is trying to make something out of it to satisfy my self, and spread my opinions about matters that may effect someone else too. I ended up defining it, and no one else did it for me. The way to blog is not concrete and set in stone. However, many people think they have the ability to make it so. Blogging tips? This is when I draw the line. I know I have done a post in the past about blogging tips, but I strictly wrote it based on my opinion to help personal bloggers start out. I also wanted to post it online because it has been a constant email question. So I did it once. Will I do it again? Probably. Probably not. Something in my blog has to drastically evolve in order for me to come up with new ideas. I have to experience it for my self first in order to tell others about it.
Unfortunately, it is not the case with the majority of bloggers. Around 90% of the personal blogs I skimmed through, they had some sort of help list. Why? No clue. Google ratings perhaps?
Not only that, but many personal bloggers are just reporting the latest gadgets, or new software, or the news in general on a daily note. Why you call your self a personal blogger then? What are you trying to achieve? What is the point of your blog exactly? Do you have an objective? Are you trying different tangents to find that objective? Please, don’t report anything, and maybe try to give your opinion about it instead. Don’t report what others have already reported. No wonder why I don’t read blogs much anymore. I don’t find many personal blogs interesting. Interest me! Entice me to go to your site every day and subscribe! Give me something that is beyond the norm. It is so easy. Probably the easiest thing on earth. Write about your self. Write about your life. It may seem so mundane to you, but it is probably the most interesting thing to someone else. It teaches people about others. Why is it so hard for you to do so? Be your self!
I just don’t get it. Those bloggers, why are they just writing list after list and thinking they will achieve something that is different than anyone else?
I am not trying to make this post sound that I know more than others, or I am trying to give my version of “tips.” No. I am not providing tips hoping you will change. I am TELLING you to change or you will end up with no one reading your blog but your self and your clique of followers who do it in order for you to read their blogs back. They also do the same exact crap as you because all you did is copy their posts and constantly comment with no thought behind it!
I want to read interesting blogs. I want to read about people. I want to know what’s going on in people’s head. Spill IT OUT! Stop being fake, or just copy and pasting crap, or coming up with the same things someone else already did 2 years ago!
Conversation with a personal blogger:
Personal blogger: “Man. Blogging sucks sometimes. It’s too much work.”
Me: “Suck it up! It is the easiest damn thing you can do, and it will stop you from watching porn!”
Personal blogger: “But I like porn. Can I talk about the way it effected my life?”
Me: “You might gain a million audience who think like you. Congratulations. You might be on your way to being a real personal blogger writing what’s in your head instead.”
Disclaimer: This personal blogger is imaginary. The me person is actually me. I was too lazy to come up with someone else because I am so so boring
…

lol @ him reading & writing about porn.
Seriously I am about to start a campaign against porn, but I wonder if I will be fair
It does not matter what you write about. Maybe the campaign might interest lots of people.
People need to be more REAL, than they can start their own blog. You have to be real about your feelings and thoughts in order to express them sincerely for others to read and become interested in them and relate to them. That’s what I love about NYC, almost everyone you meet on the streets of NY is straightforward and not fake. If they don’t want to be bothered with you, then they won’t be friendly and pretend to be nice. It may come off as being rude, but hey, they’re being upfront about it and not fake. If they feel like being talkative and friendly to a random tourist on the street (which does happen lol), then they will. They’re REAL and so I also feel that in order for bloggers to grab the readers’ interests, they they have to be honest about their feelings, attitudes, opinions, thoughts…etc…just like a typical New Yorker
@Mona – And what about you, will you participate? I’ll actually msg Chika about it.
@Ahmed – I do anyways. I make fun of it all the time!
lol yeah I should tell you the story about the dude busted @ work by the computer techs having a porn movie on his work laptop titled “Bend over Barbie” – I laughed my ass off @ the title! True he ended up fired, but that if something, its a motivation for me to bash it even more!
Interesting. I’ll be working on this.
