My body temperature is rising
Something is so wrong with my body since I turned to a non-carnivorous eater. Although I was one for a while, it was during the spring/summer season. Not winter like now. So, drastic changes are happening to me! I am sometimes cold and wear a light sweater, but the majority of the time I wear t-shirts and a jacket when I am out in this freezing weather. That’s it. In this subzero weather, and the large amounts of snow, I don’t feel cold at all. I actually feel hot most of the day and I am barely wearing anything warm. And my jacket is short too and my flat butt is always showing.
I used to always wear bundles of clothing, especially thick sweaters. I used to freeze my ass off in this type of weather, but not anymore. I just can’t even stand the thought of a sweater anymore.
I always wondered why some people wore t-shirts in the winter and jackets that I would not consider wintry like. They are either vegetarians, cold blooded mammals, or totally uptight and can’t stand being hot from wearing sweaters.

ive always thought of palestinians to be warm blooded. You just seem to have a fire within you. It burns everything sometimes, and other times it is a calm and humble flame. kinda like chi energy or something.
@Brian – lol Totally agree with you. We are so hot blooded it’s ridiculous!
It’s amazing that going vegetarian has made your winter-wear unnecessary…I’ve been a vegetarian all my life, and chica, let me tell you: I freeze to death in winter. And I’m in California lool!
then don’t drink wine
I tend to run warm as well. I prefer my apartment between 55 and 65 much of the time. One of the best arguments I’ve heard for dropping some of my excess weight is that I’ll be colder and can once again wear nifty sweaters.
Perhaps you are just becoming more Canadian with time. Before you know it, you’ll be swimming in Hudson Bay in December.
One would have expected the opposite. Most new herbivores soon regret the absence of lamb and beef from their diet.
@Digital Nomad – I think my body is trying to adapt. It’s great being a vegetarian eh?
@Saed Hamoor – Why in the world would I drink wine? I am Muslim. That’s a sin. Stop being a smart ass. No one cares. I also find it funny that the people with Muslim/Arabic names are the ones with a smart ass and use the most sinful descriptions of others.
@Cromely – I think I am adapting to being in Canada after so so many years.
@ES – I am a pescivore. I do eat shrimp. So not 100% vegetarian. I just don’t like to eat meat that had blood in it. So yah, maybe I am adjusting.
Most probably it is that ur body is adapting to the changing weather rather than others. So u gotta b careful during the climate change.
You know why it is… Because us vegetarians are so damn hot
To be honest though, being a vegetarian shouldn’t have an impact like this unless you’re not properly replacing the meat you were eating before (but that would probably lead to you feeling cold, instead of warm). It’s probably something else.
Maybe you’re just getting tougher as you grow up
I think your body is adapting to the weather in Canada, I wish my body was that way ,I been living in oregon, usa for 10 yrs and the lowest temperature is 25 degrees , and it ’s freezing to me , right now it ’s like 45 degrees and I hate it !!! it ’s so cold ,I prefer hot weather
that ’s good ,I wish my body could adapt to the cold weather
i was in colorado this past week visiting family and i never really felt cold at all. maybe there isnt that much humidity up there.
Hi,
I just stumbled onto this site. Three years ago I decided to try to become a vegeterian and managed to not eat meat for about 100 days. After a few weeks into it, I started having trouble sleeping and felt really warm all the time to the point where my face was visibly red. Your story sounds a lot like mine. I finally gave up because of these symptoms and returned to eating meat. But the symptoms haven’t really gone away.
@Saud – it is working great for me. Sometimes my body acts wear, and now I think it is slowly adjusting.
