I don’t know how people are raised now a days, especially my great generation, but seriously, some people lack ethics and politeness. What’s wrong with saying “thank you?” What’s wrong with saying how grateful you are to others? Why do people point out other’s politeness as something strange?

I am not talking about my self here. People know that I am too nice that I always say, “hello, how are you, thank you, sorry, my bad, etc” These words have resided at the edge of my tongue for a long time, and I just say them because it’s “ok” to be nice to other human beings. Nothing wrong with it.

However, that’s not the case for some people. I know a guy who is nicer than nice. Way too nice and he is extremely religious (a Christian), and well behaved. He keeps saying thank you to everything, and very nice to everyone. I was sitting in a room with him and other people, then out of no where this smart ass blurted out and told him, “why are you thanking us? There is nothing to be thankful for. We don’t want to be here anyways, but we have to.” The guy just smiled back and didn’t say anything. I looked in disbelief and thought to my self, “are people for real?”

I just don’t understand my generation. Is it wrong to be polite, nice and thankful to other human beings?

Aye.. I am just dumbfounded by peoples’ words. I think I want to start teaching manners. I know the little generation now (teens and tweens) are way worse. I feel that I am obligated as a human being to smack some people and tell them that it is ok to be nice to other human beings. God was nice enough to put you on this earth and let you live this long, so be nice to other humans! It won’t kill you to be grateful!

Random Thoughts

A long time ago, my blog visitors were concentrated on a select group of people visiting it, in other words, Arabs. However, I started one day to speak about every day issues of a normal person living in Canada. Like psychological problems, relationship problems, friend problems, etc. Then my blog evolved from being strictly about a pissed off Arab, to a person who is not satisfied with conformed traditions and societies’ ideals.

One day I woke up, and saw that my blog is linked to non-Arabs blogs. People who are not Arabs are stumbling, digging, and advertising my site. I didn’t know why. I didn’t know what I exactly represented to the rest of the world that interested them so much. However, I had to represent the image of an Arab in a better way, which I am. I never actually described Arabs in a bad way. I just described Arabs’ actions and the way they mix religion with culture as horrible, and something that I want to abolish.

I am just one person, but people laugh at me asking how I can do all that. Many persons changed the world. Some in a positive way, and others in a negative way. I don’t think they stopped when someone asked them that question or told them they are out of their minds.

You know what else is funny, 90% of the hate mail and the comments ridiculing me are from Arabs. I don’t even have to prove that Arabs are against change and cannot accept anything else but strictly Arabic traditions. They just come flocking to my site to do that for me.

Now, to the main point, which I should have stated before, but I am not writing an essay here. Many people yesterday were wondering why I am a conservative Muslim, but I am representing rebellion. I will say this for the first and final time, I am not rebellious against Islam in any way. I am rebellious against some of the Arab cultural traditions that have no basis, but are justified by religion. My problem is that we live in such a different world now, that Arabs are not evolving much anymore. In the Arab world, there aren’t many scientists, important scientific discoveries, or being part of the new world of ideas. All Arabs care about is money and hiring foreigners to do the work for them. I don’t think I heard of a University in the Arab world that gets grants from the government and help out students in research. Most of them would rather give them money to go abroad.

Culturally, majority of Arabs have seriously made others look down upon us. People think that Arabs act this way because they are so religious. No. I don’t understand where half the traditions come from. I don’t understand why every Arab’s action is justified by religion. Do many Arabs really follow their religion? That’s my main concern and I am wondering where that red line is between culture and religion.

I know many Arabs now are going to be pissed at me, and some even wonder why I am so conservative and the Arab world is not like this anymore. I am sorry, but I find it hard to believe that Arabs have changed so drastically to the point that they are so westernized now. Yes, some things have changed, or maybe they never did and some individual’s actions are just different, and they are the only people you know very closely and think the rest are like them. There are always exceptions to the rule, but the majority is conservative.

I like being an Arab for two reasons. I speak, read and write the language of the Quran, and we have great food. Well, I don’t eat meat, but if you want great lamb dish with rice, ask an Arab.

Anyways, back to ranting! My site is not accepted or liked by the majority of Arabs. I know that. I have seen many of the horrible comments that have been written about me by Arabs in this internet world. They are the ones that call them selves Arabs, yet they are the sneakiest, most ruthless, most gossiping people on earth. They stole my pictures, they altered them, they wrote horrible things about me, and made fun of my site constantly. And guess where I am and where they are at? I survived, they died out or are left with their clique of Arab followers.

I stood by my message of being who I am. I was never hiding behind a screen. I never went to other’s blogs to insult them or make fun of them. I never let the pride of being an Arab contaminate me by telling others that I am the purist and best thing on earth.

Did you notice how many sins I mentioned above that Arabs love to do to others? Do you really think I am happy of what Arabs have become? Do you think there is a reason to mix culture with religion? I suggest you separate the two. I did and will continue with my message.

Religion is not culture. Culture is not religion.

Oh my dear mother… Honestly, I wish my mother would read this, but because I tell her 90% of what I say on my site anyways, this post won’t be any different. Yes, I do tell my mom almost all the crap I write, but I use less profane words, but same angry tone.

I think my mom is at the edge of denial about my age. Since my 28th birthday is in 31 days, she has been on a constant comparison streak to other people. It is getting to the point that it is too obvious! My mom thinks that she can hint the fact she wants me to get married by comparing other looser Arab families and their stupid daughters to me. I don’t care honestly. I don’t care if a girl who is 7, 8, 10, 11 years younger than me is getting married. I don’t care. Why should I care?

I won’t deny it, I used to care. I used to get jealous of other girls getting married, but we all did it when we were naive 20 or 21 year olds. We just didn’t know better.

Now, as I am approaching the end of my 20’s, I probably learned more about life and what to avoid. Let me be honest with you, I do not like many Arab guys, because finding one that is honest and actually knows what it means to obey God is very rare. Honestly, I know some white Canadian guys who are more religious than 5 so-called Muslim Arab guys put together. They never even been to a club before. Since I cannot marry a non-Arab and a non-Muslim, let us ALL forget that I said that.

Anyways, I just think Arab guys live a double life and I cannot tell which is the real person. Also, girls are like that too. I do not like living a double life. I do not have a problem with who I am, my actions and what I portray as an individual. Why should I care what others think? I think I learned about 3 years ago when I made this site, that caring about what Arabs think all the time is the biggest cause of aneurysms. I do not feel like getting an aneurysm or any form of -syms to be honest. Not at my age. I am still young and can’t call my self 30 something yet.

So what exactly does my mom want from me? It’s not like guys comes to my door waiting for me. I do not understand how she excepts me to get married like the rest of the Arabs who follow the “traditions.” I do not like my mom’s friends. She only makes friends with people who have younger kids. She also makes friends with people who only have girls. She is the one with the problem, not me. I just do not know anyone. I do not really get out of the house much. I do not chat with Arab guys on dating sites or whatever, because I tried it and lots of creeps on there. I just don’t think I am meant to get married. Why should I? I do not even believe in love that much anymore. It’s all superficial anyways. I am so bitter aren’t I?

I like being free. I like writing on this blog and complaining. I like sitting in my pj’s all day vegging out and watching movies. I like going to the mall for 30 minutes and walk aimlessly and come back. I do not want someone controlling what I say, what I do, or what I want to do in my life (which I have not figured that out yet.) I do not like someone comparing me to their sisters, or brother’s wife, or distant foreign 4th cousin, and saying why I do not act like them; like an Arab lady. You know what I say to that shit? FUCK OFF!

Tell me this, at my age; after all the shit I have been through in my life; from all the crap that I have seen from other people in this life; why should I want to get married for the sake of getting married because of my age? That’s weakness. That’s the ultimate form of weakness. Getting married for the sake of getting married because Arabs talk is such a lame unhappy life.

Honestly, if I can find a nice honest Arab guy who is open minded, thinks life is a fun journey that we must enjoy, believes in God and religion, then I am all for it. Till that day, I am going to keep smiling and pissing off my mother. She is one of the reasons anyways why I am not married. She should just suck it up and accept it. Maybe she should stop talking to other stupid Arabs. I know every mother wants their daughters to get married, but my mother is not normal, because I am her offspring, I know how she is! Not only that, my dad wants me to get married too and I laugh more when he says it, because he knows no one. I mean it. He knows no one! So really… really.. it is not my fault. I am just their offspring, and I act exactly like them.

How people get married now a days? I have no clue. Maybe I should do some research to figure that out, because it is such a mind boggling thought.

Till then, I can have my fun, enjoy looking at gorgeous guys sneakily on Facebook that I know in person who have their profiles open to the world, and wish to God that they were older than me. Fuck, why are the good looking guys always younger than me? Why is my generation ugly? lol Joking! I am such a dork sometimes. Ehh.. done complaining. You can either comment or just go to sleep. I would go to sleep, but I bought a new book that I want to read. I will try to read it this week, or at least by next week and tell you guys all about it.
