That slogan means??

By: Mona
.......................

Google Buzz

I finally got people emailing me asking me why the heck does the slogan on my banner say, “Oh… just a bit of column of A. Then some of column B.” Now that’s a great question. Glad you asked that ever so enthusiastically.

When I was growing up, I had an obsession with Disney movies. Till this day, I remember movies such as Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Robin Hood, etc. I have seen them all more than 20 times each. Maybe even more. VHS and those rewind buttons were easily operated by a 3 year old. DVD’s are too complicated for even a 20 year old now a days! Anyways, you can say I am the typical 80’s child that survived her childhood watching imaginary crap. However, one movie stuck in my head that I not only know the lyrics to the songs, but also the words within the movie. Aladdin! That movie was awesome! I loved the movie so much, that I played the SNES game too! I still play the SNES game on my computer. Technology rules!

So what does the slogan have to do with Disney? Well, you see, I didn’t like Aladdin because of Jasmine or the dorky Aladdin guy. I loved the GENIE! He was blue and he had some lip! He wouldn’t shut up! He sings a song called A Friend Like Me, and in the song he says, “Have some of column A. Try some of column B.” So I thought, why not. So I changed it a bit and thought it was appropriate for my site. Since I don’t shut up and don’t care what word vomits out of my brain to the computer screen. So I give you some bit of flavor: some from column A, and some from column B.

Back in the day, when I first started making websites more than 10 years ago, I had personal sites and I just splashed animated pictures of Genie every where. Hehehe.

So sing you fools and honour thy Blue Genie!

God bless the creators of emulators!

A cousin of mine managed to wear his keyboard out because of the amount of time that he spent playing games (including Aladin).

If the Blue Genie did exist somewhere, what would your 3 wishes be?

I know Aladdin was in 1993. Since I am a child of the 80’s, being a 12 year old makes you pretty little and still considered a child.

This is a great story behind it. I love Aladdin and Williams’ Genie was great. Now you made me want to buy this movie and watch it all over again.

I love Jasmine from that movie. When I was 7 I dressed up as her on a movie store float in a parade. Everyone was like if they made a real life movie you should play her. That would have been cool.

I remember Grandpa Simpson said something like that. I think it was when someone asked him if he was senile or crazy and he replied “A little from column A, a little from column B”. I believe it was on the Grandma Simpson episode? I dunno for sure. =)

You know what’s crazy. That we can reiterate lines from the Simpsons ever so easily. I remember that one! :D

oh and the original story of Aladdin in a thousand and one nights is much better i think….in it Aladdin gets as many wishes as he wants. it was cool cus every night he would wish that the princess slept by his side, but he put a sword between them so as not to touch her and make it awkward.
