Canada is gonna give some money to UNRWA

About time Canada did something and said we will help. Took 12 days!
“We are … extremely concerned with the humanitarian issue,” said Cannon, who said he was grateful Israel has implemented a daily three-hour window to allow supplies into Gaza.
Humanitarian issue? No really? Didn’t Canada realize that the first day?
- $3 million will be given to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)
- $1 million will go to the Red Cross
I am happy now that my tax money is helping other human beings and not going to someone else’s pocket! God be with Gaza!

The Red Cross is a fabulous organization. They’ve been around for ages and I regularly donate money to them from my paycheck. It’s terrible what is going on. I hope that the people there are able to escape these terrible events and find a safe haven. Do you have any relatives that live in that area?
@marianna
Nop. If you read my about me page, I said I am from the northern part of Palestine, Akka. Which was occupied by Israel in 1948. I have no relatives at all in Gaza, but since I am Palestinian, everyone who is Palestinian is my relative. We are all the same people.
At least there is some good news.
It’s good to see that a major country is helping out the Palestinians. I haven’t so far heard any other government come out and propose anything else in terms of aid.
Saying that – with all the destruction, $4m is a drop in the ocean…. a drop nevertheless.
A lot of Canadians were pissed off that the government gave THAT much aid to the Palestinians and calling it giving money to terrorists and wasting Canadian’s money. So.. hmm. What about the 300 million election money? It cost that much for an election, and the government then goes hiatus, and the parliament is closed till end of the month? Is that right? This is what we voted for?
