She told me that I need to change it!

My mom has been driving me crazy lately with my hair. She obviously does not want me to cut it. Last time I cut it was last February, because she made me mad. So I chopped it all off till my neck. Now, it is back to were it was before. Long. Long. Long. I need to trim it because my hair does not look normal at the edges. I am thinking I will get a proper hair cut in 3 months. That’s how long I am going to give my hair a chance to grow, hopefully to my ideal length. Anyways, so what is mom complaining about lately, that involves my hair?

She said, “your hair is TOO dark. I have to fix it.”

I said, “NO! My hair is dark. Any lighter and it will be obviously fake! I am sick of it! I like dark hair.”

hair_too_dark

Mom is not convinced. I like my hair almost blackish in colour. That’s my hair. I am dark. I am tan and have dark hair. I am not my sister. My sister has light light brown hair and she is whitish. Total opposite of me, and she thinks she is SO GREAT because her hair is SO LIGHT compared to mine. You know what I say to her when she starts bragging? Yep, YOU guessed it!

Anyways, so I decided to cook today, because I am sick of my mom cooking anything and putting meat in it, and I have to pick my food to avoid chunks of meat! My God it is annoying to do after a while. Plus this afternoon was the first day I was free. I have been running around the past week, and after this morning, I am done running around for a bit. I need a break. Although I am unemployed, I feel that I do far too many things during the day! I want to be a lazy unemployed bum! Not an active unemployed crazy loon!

Finally, I had time to clean my office and bedroom. My office was so filled with junk and books all over the place, that I couldn’t even sit in it. I got papers everywhere! And novels everywhere! I decided that I need to show that I am a geek, and place some of my computer books in a more visible spot in my book case. Rearranging books is a pain in the neck! Also, looking at some of my computer books, I kept thinking, which book I never opened before? Seriously, half the books I have, I never opened. I just bought them and let them sit there. I have more notes and binders though. I think a lot of trees were cut cause of me! :cry:

These are some of my books. Not all computers. Which book do you think I never opened before? :grin:

Also, after all the snow that London have received the past week, I decided that I should not go outside anymore. It’s not just snowy, but SO COLD, that gloves don’t even keep me warm at all! It’s like -20c outside and windshield a bit less than that. Or maybe way less! You know, once the temperature goes below -10c, then that’s it. I hibernate!

Being inside and taking photos of the snowy tree is a lot better! Trust me! :kiss:

    I too had loooooads of text books at university; I think I didnt open 90% of them… speaking of which – I actually recognise a couple of books as course books!

    I recon you havent opened the AI and Distributed Systems books – two of the dullest subjects that I have had to study!

    First of all your dark hair is gorgeous! I love it. It’s very beautiful. I have shorter blonde hair but am trying to grow it out a bit. I don’t actually want it too long. All my life as a child and teenager I had super long hair. I think I rebelled and chopped it off. haha Anyway if you want a subtle difference some auburn or caramel highlights would look gorgeous in your hair too. I personally love it as it is though! :)

    For what’s it’s worth, I find the dark hair shown in the pictures to be quite pretty, myself.

    Yes, I recognize Elmasri, which is good, and I also notice one of Schildt’s books, which is bad. I also have a nasty habit of buying books and then failing to read them, but I am organized about it, I keep the unread books on a separate self :smile: .

    As for your hair, I’m afraid to tell you us men just don’t notice these things. You could be dragged through a hedge backwards and we’d probably not notice. The only part of you us men are looking at are your boo… uh … beautiful eyes :evil:

    For the record, I think your dark hair is lovely. My natural hair color is a dark brown but I dye it black. Of course I swim a lot and the chlorine lightens it up quickly. Your sister is whitish…are you saying that she is lighter skinned than you? My sister is lighter than me with sandy brown hair but we argue about more important things like our hips size :grin:

    I think you hair looks very beautiful. I wouldn’t do anything to it. I had highlights done when I was in high school, and my hair just seems dry and hasn’t never been the same. I think she burned it. Your hair though looks very healthy and shiny what do you use on it?

    You’re hair color is just fine, it seems to match your skin tone nicely from what I can see. I’ve been tempted to go darker with my hair, but I keep chickening out.

    If you want more textbooks, become a college professor and publishers will start sending you free ones left and right..lol. I’m pretty sure I used to have the Fundamentals of Database Studies book, but got rid of it because I never even opened it. So I’m going to guess that is one of them you haven’t opened :-)

    I opened AI (had hw from it).. not Distributed system. Looks like a brand new $150 book! :P

    @Sandi
    I don’t like reddish highlights because it is a waste of money for me. My hair has natural reddish highlights. You just have to look closely. However, it would theoretically look nice, but meh, I grew out of highlights!

    @Danko Ramone
    Thank you! :)

    @Meyrick Kirby
    I doubt some men even know their wife’s eye colour! :P

    @alicia
    Yah.. she has lighter skin color.. but I have bigger hips! :P

    @Lela
    I had highlights a while ago, and it does burn your hair. They use bleach which kills your current hair colour for the highlights (colour you want). What do I use now? My hair is shiny because I use frizz-ease shine spray. I also use Pantine Pro-V products such as hair wax and hair spray for the shine. :)

    @Professor Mikey
    I don’t think I opened it. Or maybe I did for one or two concepts to read over. You know what’s funny? My dad when he did his masters in comp sci used the same book, but earlier version. lol So we have two of them in the house. Oh man, entity diagrams. Ewww!

    @desperateblogger
    Thanks a lot! :D Mwaah! :kiss:

    @Rahul
    I went through only half of them. I said that in this post. :P

    Funny really. When I studied accounting we had to read the course texts. Each lecture was associated with certain chapters, and passing the exams without reading them was near impossible. Studying IT we were all told the course texts, and from my years of accounting education I immediately went out a bought them, only to find they were hardly mentioned in the lectures :vangry: . I’d say only 3 of them were necessary, Elmasri being one of them.

    I recently recycled a load of computer books. Funny how the stack up (and often don’t get opened). Here’s my latest batch of books that are stacking up:

    That’s funny about your dad with the same book, apparently it is a popular textbook that no one reads..lol

    Moms we love to hate them :grin:
    Highlights and colouring just kill your hair – I wouldn’t know but I spent too much time with my older sister and mum.

    I’m thinking the ‘project management handbook’ looks fairly new

    I love my mommy! I love how she drives me crazy! lol But that’s moms and you got to love them! :) As for PM handbook, I actually had to read most of it! It was required! :) It just looks new cuz it is a paper cover on top of a hardcover. When I used to read it, I removed that paper cover so it won’t get ruined! :)
