Watching the inauguration of Obama
By: Mona
.......................
CNN has a biased view and keeps thinking it is a historic event cause of Obama’s race. I think people need to look beyond that and see what he will achieve and keep his promises to change!
There are many live online shows to watch the event.

I think it’s considered historic considering the racial tensions that divided my country for 100′s of years. I hope one day a Latino can run for President without facing racial prejudice. This opens doors for other minorities like myself. :^) But I do agree we need to focus on what Obama will do for the nation and how he will handle foreign policies. That the Republicans and Democrats need to work together instead of always at each other’s political throats which hampers the process a great deal. Will be watching this unfold here at work on the tele.
@marianna
I think that was the problem. The whole division. Nothing wrong with working together and coming up with a plan to make the world a better place.
I loved his speech. He hit on the American culture…we are a nation of so many cultures…religions and we are bound by our sense of patriotism and that we need to focus on getting out of our mess…to work hard…I have always believed in working hard for whatever you want in life. When you do you “feel” it more. I hope that we are lifted out of this darkness and DO move forward….and that people are held accountable for their actions. I see hope and my personal fear is that despite the hope Obama brings once he is on Capital Hill trying to pass some of his ideals he will be face with that horrid bi-partisanship…his speech did inspire me. He thinks the way I do..why I voted for him. Was SO TIRED of the Bush years….am ready for new beginnings.
I have been reading up on what people were saying on Twitter. Many people were so critical of what he was saying in his acceptance speech. It was ridiculous how people over analyze every word he says. I think Obama will run his presidency on “I have to be careful of every word I say, even Hello!”
Yea people love to make big deals out of nothing. I mean he did mess up a little bit but he’s human for crying out loud. I just felt really bad for senator Ted Kennedy suffering from that seizure at the inauguration.
Compared to the last President…HA no comparison. Obama is far more eloquent as a speaker…and motivational. I for one understand what he means for change and having patience to see it through. Though hard, I know the difficulties that we will be facing to wade through the mess of the last administration. Those people who are critizing Obama’s speech can (in the infamous words of Bart Simpson): “EAT MY SHORTS!”
i know im going to be criticized for this one but…we are all humans…thats what unites us. race, color, and creed are just oversimplifications. its easier when you look at the world trough a blind persons eyes.
When you hold the fate of the world in your hands you have to be VERY careful with what you say.
True a lot of people over analyze, but some do it because it is meant to happen. He didn’t become Commander in Chief by accident…
Also for the record, based on what is supposedly his true family he is more white than black. He is related by blood to both Bush (11th cousin) and Cheney (9th cousin) for crying out loud!
