The blogging world is run by monkeys
By: Mona
.......................
Honestly, blogging now a days has become trash. I browse over 300 blog a day because I drop entrecards on each blog, and I haven’t seen many quality blogs. Everyone is using free blog sites such as wordpress.com and blogger.com. I seldom see blogs that have their own domain names and have a cool template. There aren’t that many out there, and it is a big shame.
Also, the quality of writing is horrendous! I am not saying I am any better, but at least I throw in a few daily life rants here and there to spice it up. But blogs these days, blah!

Is your blog any better? Tell me so I can check it out. I am sick of trying to find read and visual worthy “great” blogs.

Heya!
Yep…Everyone is trying to have a blog these days, which isn’t bad as long as they are passionate about it.
I’d love to hear what you think about mine:)

I wont toot my own horn, but I will let you be the judge of that! biscuitinabasket.wordpress.com
Did I mention that I have 15 guest bloggers hitting me with their views this week? It’s part of the January theme on NaBloPoMo – Change.
The reason why I blog on a free site is because I am still weighing up the traffic vs cost variable. Also, I wasnt blogging enough last year. That hopefully will change this year, and I am working on getting a hosted blog / blog network (working on some ideas).
Saying all that – I think I am a spicy writer and I am not scared to throw my punches! For that reason alone, you should read my blog!
In my humble opinion, it’s all about content. A fancy template and address can grab one’s attention for a few seconds, but it doesn’t mean anything if the content isn’t worth coming back for. A sub par writer with a default Blogger template can still have a great blog if they have something funny or thought provoking to write about.
@Phronk
You are write.. but I seldom find any! However, your site is pretty cool looking. I will check it out for sure!
Thanks Mona. And it goes without saying that your blog is not one of the horrendous ones. You’re expressing yourself honestly, and that’s what it’s all about.
Hi Mona. I know finding good blogs is like searching for a needle in a haystack. Not that I’m saying that mine is superior either, but its nice to read a little intelligent content once in a while. And rants are my particular favourite! Yes, I’m on Wordpress but I have limited time and limited funds so it works out well for me. I hope you have time to drop by. I should mention that I do like your blog banner…very chic! http://suffonsifisms.wordpress.com
My problem is I am bit scatterbrained when it comes to blogging. In the past I have started up and deleted so many blogs because I love starting new stuff but not sticking to it. I am still trying to find my groove so to speak when it comes to blogging. I am also lazy as hell and don’t blog with any sort of regularity. Top it all off my brain dead job turns my brain into mush by the end of the day. I am at my sharpest at noon not 7:00 pm at night when I actually have the time to blog. I end up staring at my blog with a blank look on my face and drool coming out my mouth. What to blog about. ummmmm
Hi! Like your blog. Take a look at mine and let me know what you think! Thanks!
@Sapphire
I have to agree 100% with what you wrote I’m like that
You know my blog is craptacular so let’s just move on … any chance you are going to that podcast thingee this spring. I’ll be there if that makes any more (read:less) tempting? cheers!
Pretty nice blogs you guys posted. Reading them was my morning delight.
Not to toot my own horn but you could take a look at my blog
I was one of those bloggers who guest posted on Biscuit in a Basket’s blog
I got my URL because I wanted something that made me stand out!

I seldom see blogs that have (…) a cool template.
Hello world! My name is Mona… I am a computer programmer and graphics designer.
I am not – sorry.
Or, in other words, this monkey (no offense taken) is much better off using a blogger template. Sometimes even that can be too hard.
@Maju
It’s ok.. you can use a pre-made template. But, is your blog worth reading? Probably not.
Hello….That is funny.
I do however think that it is not so much the bloggers template that is what blogging is all about but the content of the posts.
Also not everyone is as fortunate as others to have the knowledge of the technology to create their own.
Personally I feel that the free templates are in a way advertising for the person that has designed them.
I also am the first one to notice a quality unique template as I have been working a website and several blogs for 6 years now.
AS I said…the content is the meat of the blog in the end!
Have a very positive day!

At least my blog is not on a free platform. I pay for it every month. And I think I fare okay since I’ve only been blogging for 6 months.
@bingkee
way cool site.. i pay for mine too.. well only hosting, but I installed and did the template and other adjustments from scratch.
I plan to work on my blog’s layout as soon as I can. I’m not completely familiar with CSS to do it without a little research first. I just started my public one this month, so I’m excited to see where I end up taking it. So, if mine is on the monkey side, I’ll be working on it. I just haven’t had a consistent site to host it on – myspace is the closest so far and it’s too private. I may in the future ask you to offer some advice as I move forward. Right now, I’m just struggling with time commitments with my job that ease up in 2-3 weeks. I do look at what you have done and what others have done and I do agree that some are crap.
