And then, that professor reviewed my website too

By: Mona
.......................

I got some people reviewing my site because they either like it, interested, want to complain about it, or cannot imagine that someone like me exists.

Today, a 65 year old professor that goes by the nickname Sidp3 on Twitter wrote a nice post about me. Maybe he is intrigued by my messed up writing style that pretty much does not have an intended audience. I write for anyone. I write for those who are willing to read. I don’t write for specific age group or ethnic group. Arabs are the last on my mind to write for. The reason that I mention Arabs alot because, well, I am one. And I write about my self.

So, the professor wrote this nice post about me: Who Do You Write For? Who Do You Read?

What do you think?

Also, a few weeks ago, someone else wrote a post about me, without telling me. I found out because I was getting some hits from that person’s blog. I thought it was written in a bit more biased view towards a specific post that I wrote. :down: That’s fine in my opinion. I don’t care, however, calling me a teenager was a bit too much. A bit hurtful, but meh, who cares. Right? People are jealous because I am young at heart! :D

So, this is the review of my site without the reviewer telling me about it: A Rebel without a Cause

Meh. I wasn’t impressed with that one.

    Thanks for sharing this, I enjoyed reading his blog, made me think about the fact that I hadn’t really thought about my audience and maybe I should.

    I think it’s a good critique that one of Sid.

    Personally I happen to have your blog in my blogger following list as part of the Palestinian Blogs aggregator, to which I subscribed in the midst of the brutal Zionist attack of the last weeks.

    Admittedly, I was kind of surprised of not finding much mention to those (sad, outraging … no words suffice) events here. But on the other hand, found here a very fresh sincere view of things by a young Arab and Muslim woman fully immersed the 21st century Western reality that is most interesting in itself and very nice to read (you do have a very good literary style, even if you may not be aware).

    Enjoy.

    @Maju
    I don’t mention wars and politics all the time. I try to write mostly about my life and my view points of things. I don’t want to start never ending debates. I read all kinds of news, but if it something that bothers me about Palestine or any other unfair political war like regime, then I will complain. :)

    One of the good things about blogging is when others give your blog a little attention and it kind of spirals your blog off in a new direction. Even the positive ones usually misunderstand what you’re saying, but it helps you understand what you’re communicating well and not communicating well. :pirate: Arrr…matey! It would be fun if that pirate emoticon helped push your blog toward piracy, though that would be a bit of a stretch.

    My point: good blogging/writing will attract positive attention that will in turn have an effect on the blog, usually for the better. Attention = good, constructive energy.

    Just think of it as free publicity, and any publicity (good or bad) is worth its weight. BTW I have been checking out your blog for the past year now, and enjoy it! Finally just followed you on twitter as well….I may go to the extreme of facebook….shh don’t tell.
