Poll: What do you think of me?

Actually, you’re both honest and interesting, but we can only choose one, so…I guess I went with the first one of the two.

I believe your very expressive.
We all go through these emotions from one time to another, but you have the ability to articulate them so well.
I remember times when everything was blissful, I had my friends, family, significant other backing me up. Then Days, weeks, & months even that I was like a hermit crab and would refuse to interact with the world because to me at the time, it was Pointless.

So I do not think your depressed at all Mona. Your just *very* descriptive about your emotions, and I’m a strong believer that we all have phases; & this is just ONE phase that your going through at the time.

My overall opinion of you, is fun loving, descriptive, intelligent, goofy(we have the same humor strangely o_O) and family oriented.

Obviously, you cannot know a person just by reading her journal, but since you asked- here’s my two cents:

I find you honest, interesting and expressive. These are very strong pluses that outweigh all the other things. Please trust me on that.

I also find that you are just a little arrogant sometimes though… It does not bother me- because what I look from your journal is a supply for my daily reading and I added your site to my reader because you have an interesting writing style and content. And as far as I am concerned, it’s all good.

I can imagine some amount of ‘generalizations’ you go through. I think you will be able to believe me more if I say that I am a 28 year old, part of whose family comes from Pakistan (the rest from Bangladesh, I relate to this side more simply because I spent more time there), I was brought up as a liberal Muslim- and I immigrated to a ‘white’ country and I often get unwanted opinions thrown at my way due to my ethnicity and origin.

I think a part of the arrogance comes from the fact that you care a lot about what people say… as in, you get very bothered by ‘hate comments’- you make posts about those and speak to the commenters in your posts. You use the ‘arrogance’ as a ‘shield’ to protect yourself from. From personal experience- I think it encourages those kinds of commenters. But it’s totally your thing how you deal with it. I get bothered too, honestly. I do not react just so I can deprive ‘them’ of the satisfaction that I lost ‘it’ by their hateful words. I guess I am just a different kind of stubborn- and we are all different from each other.

I’m sorry if you think I’m overstepping. I’m saying only because you asked; and I’m definitely not ripping you apart just to see how you react. I have been there enough to know that it’s not fun.

I voted honest, becaause when you talk about your life you don’t just say everything is all rainbows and butterflies. You tell the truth about feeling depressed every now and then, what you think about people, and how you really want to get married and find Mr. right and Inshallah you will find him soon. I think thats why I have been reading your blog for so long because you are so honest.

You assume the qualities you list are mutually exclusive when in fact they’re not. I find you arrogant, honest, and interesting. I voted the last, because that’s why I read you.
I suspectthat your bolog persona and your twitter stream show us only pieces of who you are.

I went with honest. I really admire this quality about you, and I also find your posts to be quite interesting. You’re doing a great job, keep it up and don’t let the haters put you down!

I think you’re incredibly expressive, that’s the joy of reading your blog. You really open up and describe the things you feel well. I also don’t think people who bug you via email will respond to a direct challenge from you, internet pests are cowards who want to annoy people ‘alone’ and can’t hack the similar flame-back they’d get by posting where others can see their comments. I don’t know how fair it is to call somebody conceited or arrogant on their blog: they’re writing about themselves so yes, they’re allowed to think their own thoughts and therefore defend those thoughts like they’re the best conclusions to come to. It’s a blog! I know I’d hate to read the blog of somebody who wouldn’t be considered arrogant. “I think this [insert opinion]. But I don’t know…I guess others know more than me…I’ll just be quiet now”.

I think you are angry more at yourself than at the world.. but you aren’t any more of a complainer about life than anyone else in our generation…

don’t worry. it will get better. (at least thats what I keep repeating like a mantra..)

I find you fascinating. Mauzzie’s comment above pretty much described what I see in you: very interesting and honest with the right amount of arrogance tossed into the mix.

Anyway, I learned a long time ago that you cannot please everyone in your audience and that people who demand to be pleased (I call them “blog paparazzi”) are not worth wasting your time over.

I wanted to put honest and interesting, too. I chose interesting because I actually can’t know if you are honest. The writing _seems_ honest, but since we don’t know you in real life, this is hard to say.

Definitely keeps my interest, though. I hope you keep doing what you do best. Best wishes with the husband and job.
