Denying my roots
As in colour!
Wasn’t that a silly title for a post? What did you think I was talking about? Eh?
Last week, I changed my hair colour again. The highlights that I got done last month have faded away, because my hair is weird and nothing lasts forever. Therefore, I decided that I need to dye it again. Sorry, I meant my mother decided for me that she no longer likes the faded highlights and I should colour it a light brownish colour. I thought to my self, if I did that, then I will have mixed hair colour of dark brown almost black and light brown streaks, because of the leftover highlights. What did the colour queen do? I just bleached my entire head.
Yep, I removed all the hair colour from my hair, and then dyed it all one light brown colour.

You know what the best part of this all? My mother is jealous that my hair colour is exactly like the box! I explained to her what I did, and she wants it so badly. She pays so much for a hair stylist to get this colour, and she ends up with something way darker. Blah! And what did I do? Store bought products! Why do they sell them for?
Also, lately, since I have been doing nothing all day, I started to be more and more obsessed with my self. You know, like a typical girl with nothing better to do. I am always fixing my nails, fixing my eye brows, playing with makeup, and dressing up. All this, while I am sitting at home all day. I do go to the mall every now and then since the weather is way nicer, and spring is at the door. That’s when I majorly dress up, to go to the mall! I feel like a Lebanese …
So, I have been obsessed with knowing how those crazy celebrities, that infatuated everyone’s mind, get their makeup done. I found so many tutorials online for eye makeup, and I have been practicing. Now I even know brand names, what brushes are used for what, and how to apply all this coloured crap on my eyes to look like a real Arab girl. Yes, I know how to use liquid eye liner. That’s like natural to me.
Today, I spent the afternoon ordering makeup online and watching more tutorials. Maybe one day I will have a really nice look like I got done a couple years ago by a makeup artist. Oh I can’t wait!

Man.. the internet is so great! It teaches me how to act more like a normal shallow rebellious Arab girl!
Sites I have been avidly reading and watching:
Makeup and Beauty Blog: http://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/
Makeup Geek: http://www.makeupgeek.com/ (I ordered about $80 worth of MAC eye shadow samples, and other stuff. Really cheap!)
Makeup By Lauren Luke: http://www.bylaurenluke.com/
If any of you girlies out there know anymore great tutorial sites then send them my way!
Blah Blah, Culture, Funny, Happy, Random Thoughts, They said what?, Whatever!

I think your new hairstyle is cool! And the make-up looks great.I’ll be sure to check out those sites there to get some tips for myself.
I am not buying the act that you are a girlie girl. They think HTML is foreign brand of lipstick.
I’m unusual as a male, I enjoy reading this type of blog. I’ve been fascinated over the last few years with makeup. I never get a chance to work with it since it is strange for a man to put on makeup, but I have done reading about how it changes things on the face and found the research has helped me understand painting for the stage.
Great post with a funny title. I knew that it had to mean something else!
Sounds like a lot of fun. Not that I would know.
I love make up!! I follow a lot of beauty blogs too. RenRen (http://www.makeupbyrenren.com/) is Asian but she is a fabulous make up artist and does a lot of Arab make up too. My favorite forum is Specktra.net and MakeUpTalk.com
i like it. you are so beautiful
Hey what’s the problem with the “Lebanese”…
By the way, it usually start with the hair and ends with Botox
Nice color mona…
cheers
Oh Mona, it looks fab. How do you keep it in good condition after bleaching it? I’ve only ever done it once to my thick black Indian hair and it instanstly started splitting and going mental
So I had to pledge to never be a redhead again… Please share your secret!
@Nithya
I leave in the conditioner that comes with the hair dye box for 3 minutes. I use Frizz Ease straightening jell and Frizz Ease shine spray. I don’t wait too long before I blow my hair dry straight. Maybe an hour after I shower. That way it is semi wet but dry enough to not take too long. Then I use a $120 professional NP Hot Flat Iron that I got from a Hair Salon to straighten my hair. I only wash my hair when it gets oily, and I use hair spray to keep it in tact.
That’s my tip!
Plus my hair is really thick, and it is almost half way to my back.
Wow it turned out nice habibty
My hair looks similar -woot!
I like the hair color. Recently I’ve been trying to learn how to use liquid eyeliner by watching youtube. I always wished for an older sister who would teach me all that girly stuff, and you tube is the best I got. I like your blog. I put a link to it from mine. If you email you, I can send you my blog site if you want.
