I believe in something very simple, and I guess if you really whant to force the issue, you can say is every individual’s right – the right to an opinion.

It is very frustrating to see people everywhere have an opinion but not consider someone elses in turn. It’s like denying that a coin has two faces – everything has atleast two sides of explanation, each valid enough. The value of accepting each others’ view is the reason why there is no unity in any level of society at the moment.

And don’t get me started on the religion bashers….

Hi Mona,

I’m not a regular reader, but I understand what you’re saying. And the comments about people being bolder, foolish and rude when they have the protection of anonymity of the ‘Net are quite true.

You sound a lot like my girlfriend — who has to deal the same sort of idiocy. When you’re smart and assertive, people will either like or admire you, or attack you out of jealousy, fear, or simple stupidity.

If it’s any consolation, the fact that you have to deal with all that nonsense only means you’re doing something right. I’d like to finish with something positive and uplifting, but something lame like “hang in there” is all that comes to mind. Ah! Something else came to mind.

You’re doing something right — keep it up!

I could not help but smile at your post, even though the content was more contemptous than humourous. I like the way you bring wit to describe a situation.

What can you say, internet brings out the worst in us (by us, I mean people). I’m sure those same people will be more civil face to face, but they assume it’s their right to ‘bash’ anyone and everyone if they are hiding behind a screen.

I can see why you are so frustrated. Some people can be real dumbasses. I can only imagine that a few of them won’t even take the time to read this post and go ahead and make those comments to you again. I learned the hard way you can’t let what other people say or do get to you. Just delete their emails or comments and let them live in their own self-ignorance. But with luck you may have gotten to some of them with this post and they will learn their lesson.

You got a lot off your chest, girl For some reason, Internet gives certain people false sense of security to put down or judge another person however they want to, yet they would never say same things to your face. That is one problem I see with the Internet. Just because you can’t see the person, it does not mean they don’t have feelings. Good on you for standing up to those know-it-alls.

Another great post. Every time you say something like this, you clarify your views which is great. I got a lot of assertiveness from reading this blog. I think that there are many, many readers who like to hear what you have to say and only a fraction of them who harass you.

Until I got married, I never knew the crap that women tossed at them. It would make a tough guy cry! Anyway, keep it up.
