I think you've expressed wrong or not. But I do understand what you mean with Arabs hating each other. It's not that they hate each other,it's that SOME can't see others being happy and bless them with what they have. Instead they'll show them they're unfriendly site, which I believe comes out of jealousy. As for the 22 Arab League that's politics, bigger than you and me and anyone else. If you want to go into that topic you'll never stop.

Jade recommended "Palestine Peace not Appartheid" to me, and reading through the book, especially towards the end, it is shocking to notice how "two-faced" the leaders of the Arab states are.

I guess the stereotype of Arab arrogance and extravagance is very strong, and unfortunately the good people get lost in the middle of all this maddness.

Here's some breaking news - Nobody likes their own! I am of Indian origin, I honestly would love to be Arab or Japanese or penguin or something. But I am Indian, and being the individual/unique Indian at that makes me proud to be who I am.

You may be Arab, and you may hate that... but we love you for not being the stereotype that everyone loves to hate! :)

Warning this is going to be a bit personal. :)

I was brought up by liberal parents who taught me that you can't judge a group by a few members. Therefore, I am shocked when I read about how people of a group say, "We are like this. Or like that." I'm not saying this is right or wrong, this is just a surprise to me.

Pretty much everything I know about Arabs is from a few friends in college (Which means nothing. It's college.), books by other white liberals about ME, and this site.

Anyway going over the limit. Great post as usual. I learned a lot.

Thaer, please don't say that  Time is the answer. Besides, all the World does right now is try to enforce ideas on Arab people, which can be confusing. However, it all starts at home, they need to accept things themselves. That would be a different topic altogether. Sorry, I do love Arab people and always believe they have a good heart. No wonder Yuri Markadi made a song about it (Arabeyon Ana)

I just love your blog, kudos on an awesome style, and an awesome personality!

I second Mrs.S opinion, we are not ready for globalization.
Religion and culture in the Arab world are so entwined and tangled, that you cant differentiate which is which anymore! and tapping into this realm is a NO NO, you are an infidel now.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a proud Arab. great believer in religions, but seriously we are messed up.

the solution in my opinion is either time (not gonna happen in our life time) or a mix of the movie deep impact and the atomic bomb in japan, we need to identify the elite arabs hide them somewhere safe, and get someone to nuke the arab world. wipe us clean, and release those elite to build the arab world again. one nation under God

"(...)but with Arabs, they make it an obligation and a way of life to take revenge on anyone they hate and can’t stand." YOU KNOW IT! I think our moto should be "I need you to hate". I am not a self hating Arab, on the contrary, it provides the best material for a writer. We are a loving people indeed however, when we hate, we HATE.

Insecurity is what leads to “hate”. Arabs are extremely insecure on a personal level and on a cultural level. Sure we puff our chests and tell the world how great we are and all these things that we’ve done in the past, but we forget that those accomplishments were in the past. We are a people unprepared for globalization and the changing world. We constantly confuse culture and religion and let sheer boredom and jealousy lead us to fight amongst ourselves. You can see it play out on the larger scale of organizations like the Arab League or on a personal level within families. Take it or leave it we need to stop putting down other Arabs who are honest about our culture and to start being honest with ourselves.

Hello...

Unfortunately when you write anything and have it published or even as simple as sharing your thoughts through a blog...you are inviting others to in turn share their thoughts with you.

People instantly try to help or fix another when they feel there is a need. It is what people do. Yes, there are some that could care a less how you think or feel and you will never hear from those people.
There are even some that really do not understand your issues but still feel compelled to lend some positive advice.

I watched an old classic movie last night called 'Love is a many splendid thing' (1945)
Your post so reminded me of the girl in this movie who was Eurasian (part Asian...part European) I was shocked at how much ridicule and hate she had to endure because the Europeans hated her and so did the Asians. All because she had mixed blood.
She felt as if she could be accepted nowhere.

My point is...I cannot understand why people hate each other because of their blood lines. It is absolutely archaic.
Animals treat each other with more respect than we as so called intelligent creatures do.

I understand your angst...you are being ridiculed for reasons that have nothing to do with the type of person you are. Just because you were born of a certain blood. Or they may even fear your intelligence and your independence as a woman. That is as I mentioned archaic and immature at best.
Personally when I run into anyone that judges me without even knowing me...I pay no mind to them. They instantly become invisible to me as they have already made up their mind about me.

There are too many good people in the world to spend time with...and very little time in life to worry about those blind ones!

Chin up girl...keep moving forward.
