Where to draw the line?

By: Mona
.......................

[Source]

Lately, I have been having many random thoughts. The randomness in my thought process has been quiet tiresome, and not something I wanted to associate my self with at this time in my life. I read many comments and emails from various human beings that live on this planet earth, and I thought, are they right? Or am I right? Maybe none of us are really right. How do you define right or wrong?

I asked my self this, is self confidence a negative or positive aspect of one’s personality in this day and age?

That question permeates my brain a million times a day, and I wonder, what is the right answer to that? If one is self confident, then people would label him/her as arrogant. If one lacks self confidence, then people would label him/her as weak.

Why can’t people just say that self confidence is an acquired trait that people use to a certain extreme in order to survive in this savage world? It’s like survival of the fittest, but more of a personality trait than physical well being.

I believe that people cannot draw the line towards self confidence. It’s all based on need and survival. However, with something so open ended as self confidence, there is always THAT group of people that have to scream your name in an agonizing tone whenever you speak anything that is not in their small and limited encyclopedia of knowledge. They need to upgrade their library cards. It seems they have limited access to the rest of the world. Don’t you think?

    I believe that people cannot draw the line towards self confidence. It’s all based on need and survival.- I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU ON THIS LINE.

    We draw courage and wit for our needs to survive in this crazy world. I believe that the world belongs not to the one who fits in but to the one who stands out. We are unique on our qualities and the principle of survival and self-confidence is just be unabashedly yourself!!

    I love your writing. I love the way you think. You have a nice blog. Can we exchange links? I would love to be on your blogroll and you in mine. Let me know if okay. Thanks.

    You won’t believe I made a post may be half an hour or so ago which is sort of similar to your post here. I do not have much answers to the questions though, just questions…

    Nice reading you, as always :)

    I’d personally say that the difference between the two lies in whether a person’s all talk or if they can walk the walk :cool: I reckon self confidence is knowing you can come out on top and trusting your instincts. You know how to evaluate advice you’re given and act wisely. Arrogance is when you TELL people about it. People going on about how amazing they are and how they know best. Not cool. You’re a bit of an easy target for this one IMO as we only know what you talk about, which sucks for you. I think some people forget that this is your blog where you share your thoughts and must think “wow, Mona must go around talking about herself all the time, that’s all I ever read about here!” because for some reason the internet makes people stupid.

    I have a theory about the universe. My theory is that whatever you believe is actually somehow true. The universe works with you to fit your belief system. Life, is what you make it. You and I and every living thing has the power to make it whatever we want. No boundaries.

    That’s my theory.

    The first paragraph shows up a different take compared to the question you put forward. If you are trying to piece two things together, it may or may not find a path very soon, but someday you will “think” the path you found will suitably fit for the moment.

    Comparing, having thoughtful review and accepting good thoughts is a trait that the inner eye is looking at events in a broader sense. If thats how you feel on reading comments and email messages from your enlightened friends.

    Why bring in confidence in this subject? Confidence, as you know, is an acquired trait when a person does an activity over and over again. Even if its a bad thing. But its the confidence that get nurtured when “success” is the result. Its perception. one seeking right in everything done.

    For your kind information, there are people who work their ass out, in social activities (which we may not hear of), yet they are not clear if there work will eve make a benefit. Its faith for the long run. They have hardly anyone for encouragement, except their faith and a few people they trust.

    At least in comparison to the above mentioned people, you can be happy to get messages and encouragement, inspite of not able to turn the world around. Cheer on!

    I have found that it’s possible to combine humility with self-confidence. You are confident when asked anything and you answer only when you know you are correct. You are humble when you do not speak of yourself anymore than necessary.

    As for criticism for others, the old saying goes, “those who speak too much are disparaged, … too little … disparaged, … just right … disparaged.” Of course, you know all too well that other people’s opinions are bunk. :)

    I hope the WP templates are coming along.

    This is such a good post! :)

    I totally agree with you, and I want to highlight one specific line – It’s all based on need and survival.

    Even the most timid introvert will turn into a Lion when they need to. Sure, confidence is completely natural to some people, but it exists in everyone of us – just not at the same checkpoint.

    AWESOME post!

    Who is the dude?
    Scenario: Johnny crashes his vehicle. Got out of the crash and dust off the fine debris off his suit. Engineer runs over “Everything alright, dude?” “You haven’t seen the best, yet!”

    Suggestion 1:
    Have a sample sport polo t-shirt for sale – Rebellious Arab Girl.
    Placement:
    For Males – all Black with pink font. The caption should be placed in the bottom lower back, usually where females have their tattoos done.
    For Females – all Orange with black font. The caption should be placed on the arm sleeve, usually where males have their tattoos done.

    Suggestion 2:
    Have a chat integrated to this site, for the obvious of course. [finally the site will get an exciting feature, can't get ready to see how many will start yapping, hope it brings more :money: for the cause.]

    =====

    I agree with humility @ Leeroy. Hope such people get plenty of “medal of honor” more than back stabs. Its not the case though.

    ====

    So what if we sound right all the time. For the proud there is always a downfall. Who else will teach humility? circumstances, or an irritated smart lad like little Johnny.

    ===

    No reason to get envious of smart talkers. Diligence seems to be a good trait to develop for a know how to most problems. Its for the long run.

    ===

    Over sized smart yapping accountants and senior executives have always brought companies to their knees. We are all living through this right now. Where is the honesty?

    ====

    long live the rebellion

    I used to have a chat, and it wasn’t fun. People that have access to my Facebook and actually read my info part, notice that I have Gtalk account they can add me to.

    Plus, you typed way too much! lol However, it was very interesting and entertaining to read. Thanks! :)

    The only reasons i can come up about not having a chat feature, is because

    1. No entertaining chatter is ever coming to this site. Seems they loose all sense of humor on reading the posts here.
    2. No entertaining chatter have an outlet to pour out their verbatim as easily for a spontaneous conversation.
    3. All chat messages are hackable for they are in uni-text format, so the credit card numbers we share will surely be under siege.
    4. The posts in this site are full of hidden questions! There is an answer to all these posts too! wow the monstrosity of keeping in pace the complicated wiring of the girl’s neurons! 8,000 files she says [in her post: prolonged software edits, dated 27/03/09], bah, think of keeping up with her mood! lol
    5. Its a personal blog, who wants to spend time with someone?
    6. Its a personal blog, who gets the chance to throw in their life story here? Its like getting the idea of posting all my stuff on mona’s pages, while she pays for keeping up the site! hahaha what a leech i could become.
    7. Now leaving space for the Destructor of the chat feature to fill in the gaps i have obviously missed out. :twisted:
