Still on vacation, but I had to say something
I was browsing the net, and reading some forums, and Arabs were writing in Arabic (Thank God I can read Arabic) the following: The best solution for Palestinians is to just leave Palestine (migrate from it), and the whole problem and bloodshed will end.
I am seriously going to commit some murders. Now you know why the Arab world does not like Palestinians and does not care about them. Sure, let us suffer YOU ARABS and go from country to country to find a home. Typical STUPID closed minded ARABS! No wonder when Israel bombed the hell out of Gaza earlier this year, no one gave two shits, especially the Arab world.
Back to vacation. I am sick of the shit I read on the internet. No wonder I trash talk some idiotic Arab thoughts all the time. I have every right and evidence to do so.
Uff.

Good post. Can you elaborate your opinions? I was clear on other people’s thoughts, but not on yours. I am especially interested in what made you angry. Sorry, I’m ignorant, but at least I’m curious.
I’m curious as to also.
Why didn’t the other arab nations say or do anything?
Hmm… are you sure it was Arabs who posted this stuff? I mean, just because it’s posted in Arabic does not mean it is written by Arabs.
In Israel, many schools offer excellent Arabic education from childhood on. Some (few) might do it for “let’s get on well with our neighbours if we want to find peace”/multicultural reasons. Most do it out of a “know your enemy”/future intelligence or military forces reasons.
But I do know there are many Arabs who have the craziest opinions. I mean there are many Egyptians who dream of Pharaonic times and hate (their own) Arabic culture (despite speaking and writing and living you know what).
I will never get them – I have every understanding for people who feel marginalized, religiously or regarding their minority ethnic background (like Berber or some other). But Arabic culture is diverse, I said today to someone on the internet – it has so many people with so many different backgrounds, yet all of them are connected through language. That’s actually very beautiful.
Oh I forgot – yes there is no Arab solidarity. The most ununited people in the world – Arabs. I think you wrote, very accurately, on one of your posts on the disputes within the Arab League. To Leeroy and Luigi – well jealousy, silly nationalism, rivalry, leaders’ personal desire for putting up a show (think Gaddafi!), personal sensitivities put above the ordinary people’s interests by shockingly decadent/oppressive/corrupt political elites.. and no, no one cares for their own people, let alone foreign Arab peoples and civilians.
Solidarity with Palestinians is ok if it means your people are burning Israeli and US flags on their streets so that they are distracted from marching against you (the Arab leader of country x), which you will violently prevent anyway.
Solidarity with Palestinians in real life – no no.
Am I too cynical?
@Leeroy Glinchy @luigi
What do you guys mean my opinion? I am Palestinian, my view point on the matter is purely a Palestinian’s view of discontent. A person who has lived her entire life in discontent from what happened to her people that effected her parents, and her, and also future generations. I don’t understand everyone’s curiosity.
@Dina
It was a forum that is purely about entertainment. No politics or religions were supposed to be talked about, but Arabs will always be Arabs.
Sorry. I didn’t mean to offend. I didn’t mean to open a discussion on politics. It’s just that you wrote about politics, and to me, the POV was there, but not complete.
In your response, you answered my question, and I appreciate it.
I do not know why I am curious about why people feel the way they do. I feel that this kind of curiousity is natural. I don’t know. Perhaps because I write fiction, and I seek to know how people think and why. Perhaps because I feel it helps increase global compassion if people understand one another. I really did enjoy this post.
Actually Arab did something, It was just protest, burning the flag , cursing USA, Israel On T.V and saying Allah yer7am Saddam (May Saddam rest in peace), Thats all what we can do talk and talk
you want an arab country to go and free palastine may be at the end of days not now and specially not with our current situation where all what we care about is money, Getting married just to have sex and the important thing who won star academy.
Regarding the post you read, it doesn’t mean it represent all arab idea, There are some racist people out there who care about them self than to care for an arab unity or a free palastine but they are only minority so please don’t be mad about it and as we say in Arabic let the dog bark
@Ahmad Hamdan
I care who wins Star Academy! lol only cuz I am learning to speak Arabic more from watching it. But yeah, I hear ya. It is always that annoying minority of people who have a tiny little brain!
salaamu’alaikum sister,
I just came across your site via blogher.com and found your way of writing and expressing pretty interesting and bold. good for you.
anyway, i really am not much of a political commentator as I am a foodie (halal foodie, that is). So, I thought you might be interested to check out my blog called My Halal Kitchen at http://www.myhalalkitchen.com
Your comments will be especially appreciated since I have a feeling you’ll be very honest

Hmmm, man but you cant deny that people with such mentality do exists in the Arab world, including Palestinians themselves. During the New Year’s Eve, while Gaza was being attacked, all the parties and celebrations were canceled across Jordan as form of solitude. However, typically there are always such group of people who don’t give a damn like u mentioned. So that night while some were working on raising funds, food, clothes ..etc, others decided to celebrate and held the parties in their own homes, for instance my neighbors are Palestinians and held a party that night and we were invited, we refused to go. This is just one shocking example. When you confront them, they always says “may god help them, but we have the right to enjoy our lives too, we cant do anything ..etc.
So the real victims of the “ I don’t care” Arab mentality, are the Palestinians still holding on in occupied Palestine, Palestinians living in refugees camps in the Arab world , Palestinians who had to emigrate out of the Arabs world, and finally Arabs who do care, but due to the current political circumstances and restrains, they are pretty much voiceless and ineffective.
Aside from the Arabs attitudes, why do you think Arabic governments are pretty much powerless, is it because they don’t care?? Of course not, its all due to strategic reasons, fear being the only catalyst!! when it comes down to Arabs, after being occupied for hundreds of years, i mean like the oldest arab country to have its independence its not even close to 70 years, so all the Arab countries are developing and suffering from poverty, unemployment, inflation, low standards of education and poor infrastructure, for these reasons they are over-dependent on foreign aid and investment, this means if they dared and say anything against the USA or Israel, these aids will stop, then our struggling economies will fall drastically, plus they will not be able to pay their debt, this is far worse than what our ppl right now can tolerate, i.e the western world bought their silence and paralyzed their voice.
On the other hand you got the rich gulf region, also have oil, but they are all ready are under their control for decades now, do u think all the industrialization sectors and development in Saudi and UAE and the rest of the gulf region is because of their hard work. Their leaders did absolutely nothing, the countries are full of foreign oil companies, and they end up taking a very small share of the incomes, thats why they can do nothing to help not even their own people. For example, the current financial crisis in USA, who do you think played all those billions to the US banks; Saudi of course, it spent all its income in the past 3 years and bought military equipments from USA to hide this fact.
My point here, looking at the status of the sick Arabic governments, they are absolutely powerless and corrupted. I dont think at any point they will realize that the freakin arab dignity is far more important than the dollars they get. The Arabic governments don’t represent Arabs’ opinions.
So obviously blaming the governments isn’t any better that those ppl who dont care, because clearly we’re running towards a dead-end. So its down to the people (Arabs + non-arabs), because of the conditions of the Arab world politically, economically and militarily, Arabs cant do it alone. The ppl of the world should rebel against their governments to take action. The governments are supposed to represent the people, to the other way around, how do we except them understand and help us change, when they dont know whats wrong in the first place. Soo we need do whats right as opposed to what is popular. We can educate to clear out all the lies and distorted facts fed into the western main stream media! Even in small ways, through the net, through individual contact, through books, through music, conferences, organizations, and oh Blogs 9oh yeah, lol) . It may sound impossible, I might be a dreamer, but hey every voice counts and matters. For instance during Gaza attack, it was the 1st time in history where the UN secretary actually blamed Israel, and shockingly there were protest all over the world including America. The more ppl know, and pressure their government and UN to take action, it wont be long enough before Israel’s breaks down.
I also don’t understand why Arabs tend to blaming Arabs, its ridiculous, you are blaming yourself as well, those who made such comments, what have can you done or at least suggest anything to do, something logical and effective enough, after knowing the current situation of the Arab world. You cant be that close-minded an ignorant. I have participated in many conferences to spread the word, many history and political science students still contact me through a website to know more about the other side of this conflict, I know it doesn’t really counts, but that’s not the end, its my cause as any Palestinian.
Sorry for writing allot, among all the things u wrote, this is the only thing I disagree with. I mean obviously everybody is playing this blame game, and sadly many Palestinians living out the Arab world tend to have some form of hate towards Arabs and tend to believe that we all dont care , i cant blame them after all what they’ve been through, you expect your own people to be the 1st ones by your side. Sadly thats the reality of the Arab world, but u know ” there is nothing like a dream to create the future”.
@yvonne
You know, I have been browsing the net, especially blog, for a long time. And it never crossed my mind that someone should have a halal recipe site! lol Good job!!
@Maria
Ayee… no comment.. but I did read all of your comment!
Hahaha , 3adi, I’m used to it by now, many people tend to avoid relying when I get into politics
. Bas i must admit I’m curious to know what u think about it.
Don’t get me wrong, i happen to be an arab living in the arab world, this coldness towards the Palestinian conflict comes from all sides. Also, I know u haven’t mentioned anything about “governments””, but I was just trying to elaborate why it may seem that Arabs don’t care””, today when you’re talking politics, what the people have done and said is not that effective or important, you must deal with governments, international organizations, UN ..etc, the ones whose voice and decisions are heard. Looking at the Arab world, many arabs lives under corrupted governments, who happen to be slaves of the western world. That why I mentioned the Arabic government, you are saying we don’t care, I was just disassociating the government actions from the people’s opinions, and kind of showing the possible power of the people to realize they can actually do something.
Oh btw happy vacation,
ah dude, i just went through what i wrote, it wasn’t directed to YOU, the “”close-minded and ignorant part”. Sorry, i meant the people with such mentality. ah my english isn’t that gd obviously, so sorry again
@Maria
It’s ok, I didn’t misunderstand you or anything. Also, you write very well, so be proud of it! Secondly, I don’t discuss politics or Arabic governments, because why should I talk about dictatorship? Everyone knows what dictatorship is, no need to explain the obvious.
@Mona
Ah gd, thanks ;D
But when you question why we don’t care, then the only thing that shows that are the leader’s actions, like all the Arabic political actions and decisions have constantly failed to help or at least support Palestinians. Other than that I tend to believe that the majority tend to care and contribute even in small ways. Oh, and plus its not just dictatorship on the arab part that caused this, mostly because of the foreign interference in our internal affairs..
Anyways, never mind, its seems that the political drama in the Arab world have no future, unless the new generation rebelled and wiped out all of those governments, the royal Jordanian government to start with!!
An eye for an eye will make the whole World blind – Gandhi
the root problems of this world go far far deeper than the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Just my two cents.
