Since I have very poor planning skills and am pessimistic, I had no notion of the future especially a better one. I also dreaded adult life because of working. I was right about all this. Wish I planned better, though.

I’d rather be a middle aged woman than be a teenager or young adult again, I thought those times Sucked!
At least now I have no one to blame when things go bad except myself.

I don’t know, I’m a third year uni student (22 y/o) and the novelty of being a grown up in my own place still hasn’t worn off. I’m still a cake-for-breakfast-cos-I-can sort of adult and I loooooove doing my own food shop. I couldn’t live without driving now. I’m also slowly collecting all the pets I’ve ever wanted but was never allowed to have. To be fair though, the thought of graduating and being kicked out into the real world scares me! But as we discussed earlier, bitchy all girls school :P not much to miss there.

I remember when I first started my blog, at the age of 19, and I came across a 28 year old blogger, and I thought she was “ancient” and “old”. Now when 15-23 year olds tell me I’m a “senior citizen” I get kind of offended (but usually it’s hilarious). What comes around, goes around.

Let’s all sing the Rod Stewart song:
    “I wish I knew what I know now…when I was younger!”

That pretty much said it all. I was just thinking the other day when I was watching my little cousins playing around how I missed that because they don’t have to deal with our adult problems.

I think it all depends on how well your childhood went.

There are specific things I miss, like having less responsibility, not having to worry about money, etc. But there are also quite a bit I don’t miss. I always hated school. There are quite a few “friends” who I don’t miss. And I definitely don’t miss living in rural America. But meh… to each his/her own :)

Yes being an adult today sucks but there is one thing I won’t miss about being a kid is having to go through puberty again. It was crummy. Anybody miss heavy doses of hormones surging through their body and the side effects from that such as pimples, oily hair and skin and the wonderful mood swings? Yippee so much fun! NOT

childhood for me is like this short poem i wrote many years ago in my high school creative writing course.

My mother tunes the piano and i hear it echoing in the background as i shut the front door and continue to the hideout.
All my friends are in the street waiting for my arrival. The sun glints off my eye as i raise the bike and charge into the street. we were the local club, the fools nobody messed with
the wind was a breeze and the fire within me began to churn as i thought about the secret lay hidden under the earth. the sound of rubber against metal made my stomach queasy for the treat to get was never easy.
we all looked into the darkness, knowing what was on the other side, but each of my friends stepping back when they realized i was going to be the first to fly. i hastened my glance, and hardened my grasp. as i looked on and never once looked back. the sun disappeared and the breathing of mine was all that i could divine. spider webbs and the sound of water in the tunnel made me quicken my step. light….oh beautiful wonderfgul light…i see it at the end. could it be. the darkness was subsiding…it was….THE END!!
    ………..?
    …..?
i looked up and saw that i was underneath the road, under a metal grate….thats it???
growing up ait all that great when all you do is end up in the ground anyways.

I hear that a lot.. about how puberty is a nightmarish time.. I don’t know.. mine was a piece of cake. Barely noticed it…

I wonder if that means I haven’t gone through puberty yet…

So true it’s not funny any more, and I don’t know about you, but from my perspective, the music was better then.
The school kids getting better results in their exams nowadays because all the answers are easy to find online but the problem is some of them are still rather dumb.
