[BAPD] Where is my homeland?

By: Mona
.......................

Today is Blog About Palestine Day. An event that was introduced by a great Palestinian blogger that uses the online pseudonym Za3tar. me_palestine_day

If you guys are wondering why this day was chosen, and you lack the knowledge of the history of Palestine, then I got one date for you: May 15, 1948. You do the math, and remember what happened, because we will never forget.

I didn’t know what to say really. I think I talk enough about it throughout the year. Yesterday, I have talked about a silly event that happened online with other Arabs who don’t really care about our whereabouts. We are just a number to them that live, die, or are born somewhere in this world.

So, enough said. I decided that maybe I should tell people that I am here through some self portraits. Unfortunately, I am very far away from my land, but I believe that being Palestinian is pretty damn awesome.

You try and live your life knowing that you are something else. You withhold dear to you more than just a name. Your blood is always boiling and have this fiery essence burning inside you. You feel obligated that you have to tell the world that you are here and you will NEVER give up! It is amazing, and I can’t find anymore words to describe being one.

me_palestine_tell_them

And to finish this off, a lovely poem by Mahmoud Darwish. May he rest in peace.

I Come From There

I come from there and I have memories
Born as mortals are, I have a mother
And a house with many windows,
I have brothers, friends,
And a prison cell with a cold window.
Mine is the wave, snatched by sea-gulls,
I have my own view,
And an extra blade of grass.
Mine is the moon at the far edge of the words,
And the bounty of birds,
And the immortal olive tree.
I walked this land before the swords
Turned its living body into a laden table.

I come from there. I render the sky unto her mother
When the sky weeps for her mother.
And I weep to make myself known
To a returning cloud.
I learnt all the words worthy of the court of blood
So that I could break the rule.
I learnt all the words and broke them up
To make a single word: Homeland…..

Updated: Za3tar posted this amazing article about ancient history of the Palestinian land that people in the world ignore. Why ignore ancient history? It is for all of us to learn about.

You’ll never be just a statistic, as God loves you as an individual, a person, and a being. God loves all the Palestinians and the Jews, and for that matter everyone both equally, as people, and as sinners. For this reason God has called us to be citizens of a new kingdom not built by hands of men but by his hands…

Thank you for the compliment and many thanks for your contribution Mona. (No, I am not a great Palestinian blogger, that is Sabbah :-) )

You are absolutely right, it is weird being a Palestinian, specially abroad, because you constantly feel like you are a fish out of water but can’t get back to its ocean. But you are right, it is also pretty damn awesome being Palestinian!

I really liked that Mahmoud Darwish poem, couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.

    Thanks,

I know Sabbah is.. He is the most awesome one on the net! :) However, you are pretty awesome because you made an event that should have been done a long time ago. It is a way to unite us all and find one another on the blogsphere! :)

I’m just like you, i don’t have any other words to say or to describe what is going on my heart.
but anyway, you mentioned a fabulous thing :”but I believe that being Palestinian is pretty damn awesome”. we are not strangers or unusual people who came from the mars but we’re have a unique issue that make us a unique nation.
I believe in Allah, and I’m sure of retrieving our country, but it just a time case, we need more time to get it back, enshallah this will be soon, and enshallah r7 ne7tefel be Akka o Jenin o kol Palestine,, asking god to make it real.
    Great post Mona, Thanks
ah, your picture are very nice, so just say” 3ain el 7asod feeha 3od”

I do want to make it clear that I do not believe in a universal entrance to this kingdom, but I do believe all men have the potential to get to this kingdom.

“…being Palestinian is pretty damn awesome.”

Glad to hear it. I also enjoyed how positive this post was.

I have a very strong feeling that things are going to get better for Palestinians. I believe you can only wall people in and hold them back for so long.

I feel it will be like East and West Germany back in 1990. Where the people took down the Berlin Wall, and the separation ended. I hope something of that nature occurs very soon.

There is a reason I’ve always loved Palestine and the Palestinians – the will and drive they all have to make it is unbelieveable.
There will be none in recent history that will defy their will inshaAllah.

May Allah swt bless Palestine, the Ummah and anyone and everyone fighting day by day to live free.

Bi rooh Bi dam, nafdeek ya phalasteen!

I don’t know when the change is going to come, but I feel it will be more gradual than Germany. I don’t know why. I feel like things are all ready starting to turn around. Again, just a feeling. Surely the next generation on both sides has to be a fresh start!

Enough speculation. Like millions of others, I am watching the situation with great interest to see how things work out. My wife and I watched some videos about Palestine that were very interesting.

Hey.. sorry.. but just a bit of a warning. The next person that thinks it is ok to put me down and make fun of Palestine, and start a political war fare on my blog will be banned. I have been online all day and clicking the spam button a lot. It’s not that I am closed minded, or not wanting to accept other view points, but I am NOT going to accept the wrong nonfactual view point about my country on my blog.

Yes they did yesterday.. and they were not very pleased by my recognition of a country that exists in name, people, and soul. What’s funnier is that Palestine is now recognized as a name in the UN. It is called Palestinian Territories, and we are getting there! We got the name back, time to get the country of Palestine back!
