Nice, it’s kinda funny conversation..
But anyway we can’t blame her because she don’t know anything useful about Arabs, she knew Arabs through bad people like Bin Ladin and this view will still in her mind forever.
The Arabs outside the middle east keeps saying and telling the people that they are not arabs, as u said “I’m Canadian” , I’m sorry but these words simply will not solve the problem for your sister but it will makes it very hard.
Just tell her “We’re Arabs” “You’re Palestinian” .

I used to think like your sister but now I don’t.
for me being an Arab is something to be proud of, I don’t particularly think it’s a privilege over any other
ethnicity however it’s who I am and you gotta stick up for you own

I am white and white people have done many, many things I am not proud of. But overall, I am who I am. Not b/c of my skin color, only, but b/c of my attitudes and actions. Overall, I like myself.

Just b/c someone is born Arab does not mean that they have to identify w/ terrorists. There are many, many great Arab thinkers in history. There were many humanists and Europe got a lot from their contact w/ Arab culture. So much to be proud of. Terrorists are a drop in the ocean.

I used to think a lot like your sister. I mean quite frankly with all the idiotic things “some” Arabs do you really can’t blame her. Add the whole anglo`fication of the middle east in general and it’s not hard to see why Arabs are quickly loosing their identity.

The world and people at large seem to think that being Arab automatically means being Muslim. That of course is wrong because most educated people know that there are Christian, Jewish and even atheist Arabs.

To me being Arab means being a classical Arab. It’s all about the shahama, being kareem and not taking crap from anyone. Too bad classic Arabs are pretty much dead so I’m just a wannabe

Maybe the farther away you are from the desert (and the harsh desert lifestyle) the less of an Arab you are.

Do you think Arabs are an endangered species?
