Don't talk to me about going grey... it happened to me this year. Everything was fne when I turned 30... no major changes, I figured, "hey, I can do this 0 thing". Then at 31, BAM! The old age, crappy metabolism and grey hair special hit.

<a href="#comment-44953" rel="nofollow">@Amira</a>
I tried all kinds of brands. I went to hair salons and paid a lot. I tried everything. I even highlighted my hair a few months ago. NOP! I even dye my hair a dark colour, and it turns lighter after 4 or 5 washes. Jeez. My hair does not like to cooperate!

I'm 23 turning 24 inshallah, and I have several grey hairs unfortunately.
So in consequence I dye my hair once every 2 months or month and 1/2 once the root starts showing, and put highlights in my hair that way the grey could be disguised as well. But its so funny, cause its exactly as you described it. As soon as you dye your hair, the grey hairs are partially hidden for about 2 days then *POOF* magicallay on the 3rd day or 2nd wash they start to slowly but surely re-emerge.
blah. I got this from my fathers side of the fam.
but alhamdulillah that I'm healthy and happy and thats what matters.

-On a side note, I use brands that "say" 100% grey coverage or special brands like that. They're not 100% on it but they work better than the other brands.

Hahahaha.. I would never pluck out individual hairs.. pulling it in chunks is more dramatic! :P

The only advantage I've seen to grey hair is to dramatically point to it in the middle of an argument and say in a Bollywood way "do you SEE what you've done to me? This grey hair is because of your selfishness, this one's because you're lazy!" etc. Arabs seem to share the Indian love of melodrama, so yay you get to use that scene right now  . I get grey hairs during exam time (I'm 22) but they don't grow back after I pluck them out. Clearly blood is temporarily being diverted from melanocytes to my brain or something?

Thanks everyone for your comments. I know you guys want to help or share your misfortunes, but in the end of the day, grey is here to stay! :(

Oh just a thought - aren't there special products for grey hair? Maybe the structure is different?
I even heard some years ago one of the major cosmetics companies issued a product which gives back the natural colour to your hair. there were raving articles all over the place, and I remember because at the very end they said it will work with every hair colour except black. I thought - GREEEEAAAT. How could it be different, all hair colours but mine got the solution :)
Maybe you can try that one?

I found this one in English.
http://geniusbeauty.com/cosmetics/how-to-get-natural-hair-color-back/

The brand I heard of years ago is Re-Nature by Schwarzkopf.
http://www.renature.schwarzkopf.de/
I am reading reviews right now - of course often forum threads are paid advertisment, so to be read with some caution.
They are in German unfortunately, many are raving reviews, some say the grey will not disappear and the rest of the hair takes unwanted colour (gets darker).
What I find troubling is quite a few seem to have been satisfied at first, but notice strange coloration (red or yellow) after repeated use. It is a chemical and not natural product, for sure, and it might be damaging to the hair.
I don't know what to think of it, to be honest.
Some say the hair turned green or red, some say they are using it for years and it is great.
If you were to try, I guess you could order it online from Schwarzkopf carrying sellers, like maybe on ebay.

Oh and I just read henna on one site grey hair can produce "shocking red or orange"; another one said henna can help restore the natural tone for brunettes if it is herbal color with henna, and thus with less red proportions. uhm better consult your Mum or aunties before following my uninformed advice!

Honey, have you tried more natural stuff like Henna? I don't do it yet, but many women say you can use it with every hairwash, and it does not damage the hair but make it softer. And it gives some colour, especially to gray hair, apparently.
But this is not my first-hand experience.

The early greying really sucks.. I hope you can do something about it! Else you have an excuse to dye your hair more often without hearing comments on how you damage it. :)
