From my heart and blog

By: Mona
.......................

Some people in the past have asked me why I have advertisements on my site. I replied that I was poor and I needed money from writing such mundane things on my blog. Since I have been finally employed by the good people who realized that maybe I do have a talent, then people will now question why I am still monetizing my blog.

I know advertisements are annoying, and they make pennies a day. However, I am going to leave them for two reasons:

1) I have a significant number of lovely daily readers.

2) I am going to use the money for something more than my self and to help others.

Therefore, I have decided that the money I make from my site will be sent to an online Palestinian Children’s Charity. It has absolutely no political affiliation. It is just money to buy medicine, etc. I could care less about politics or any stupid organization, and I support no one.

The rest of the money will be used for hosting my websites and domain renewals, and any other miscellaneous online purchase I need for my sites.

Random Thoughts

Well, I have been on a shopping frenzy lately. I had to go buy new clothes for work. And this is no ordinary work. I can’t dress like I just got out of bed and put on the first thing I saw in the closet that is still not ironed. Oh no. No more! I have to look like I am actually going to work! Not only that, all my clothes are too big on me. I lost so much weight from sitting at home eating my self up from anger and depression, that I was in desperate need of a new wardrobe! So, I am slowly picking up new clothes and will get a lot more later and throw out the old. I only go for sales. I don’t like spending money on clothes. I find it a waste!

Also, it is so much fun walking in downtown and looking like I a little career girl! Hehehe! I look so sophisticated for a programmer. But hey! I get treated well! I get a kick ass view (click to view), free hot drinks, and free lunch every Thursdays. Now that’s the life!

It’s very cute to see that the little things in life make you happy. Sales are awesome and online coupons are great too.

This isn’t my place to tell you where to donate your money, because to be honest I don’t know how trustworthy or how legit this online charity is (you know better). BUT, be careful.. Do you have maybe some family or friends back in Palestine where you can directly send them money and they can then distribute it to those who need it?

I donate to a local Canadian/Toronto based charity, but I have also gotten in contact through a blog of an individual in Syria who is helping out displaced Iraqis. He was able to get me in contact with a woman and her sister in really bad financial need, and I feel 10x better when I send money to her through western union that it is going directly to her.

Again.. I am not implying this online charity isn’t legit. You aren’t stupid, and I’m sure you’ve done your research and know it’s all good.

Maybe, if you are close with your local masjid, that you ask those in there if they know of families in financial need around your town.. and I would have it arranged where you DIRECTLY give the money to that family/individual and not the masjid to give. Again, I am also not implying masjids aren’t to be trusted, but from what I’ve heard and seen in some of these committees on masjids shook my head.

    @SA
Like many exiled Palestinians, every single member of my family was exiled from Palestine. All I can do is help out those people that need it. As for doing my research, yes, and I even have direct contact with the organizer. I only want to help them, and that’s it. No one else.

Great for you Mona… I hope the new job is going well and dou do great work.

I have ads on the blog I operate, it’s such a hassle because I have to always go in to adsense and enter urls to sites that I want to block and not show ads for ….Israel. It’s like a full time job, doing that, but any funds I make gets all donated to causes, people and anything associated with Palestine…

Do you remember what i do for a living…SHHH….
I am kinda told who to like and not like. But I am my own person. I watched this documentary yesterday that totally changed my view and understanding of a certain situation. It was called Occupation 101 I got it from ISOHUNT.

Anyways am glad you are donating your money to a good cause.
