Most annoying invention ever!
Cell phone earpieces … I hate them! I find them to be purely stupid, and people who wear them will seriously have a major wax buildup in only ONE ear! Also, people who drive with them are likely to cause an accident as a person holding a cell phone or using the head piece! Same thing! You are in a state of disruption and your brain is focused somewhere else!
That’s really not my problem. That’s just a rant about reckless drivers and inevitable wax buildups. My real rant is about people who walk around in the malls or grocery stores with that earpiece on. They look like lunatics talking to them selves. Not only that, they look like they are talking to me cause they are next to me and no one else is around!
Today, I was at the grocery store with my dad, and we obviously talk in Arabic only. Then all of a sudden, a guy near by was talking in Arabic to a female. I didn’t see anyone around. And this guy was talking in Arabic so loud! I was trying to find the person who he was talking to, because I had no idea how he knew me otherwise. Then he turns a bit around, and I see that stupid cellphone earpiece on his ear. I was like ARGH!! Stupid thing!
If you wear one and talk so loud with barely anyone around you or only one person around you, then expect a stare back with utter confusion! Those earpieces are misleading and annoying! I don’t like them, and I never did. I like my old technological ways of holding a phone in my hand. I am old school and proud!
All you Matrix wannabees!

Advice, Angry, Culture, Ranting as usual!, They said what?, Whatever!

I know what you mean. But some people conclude they are less likely to cause car accident which is why you can no longer talk while you’re driving unless you’re talking on a bluetooth earpiece. What do you think? Are accidents more likely to happen?
That’s nothing! I had cell phones, period! They make people anti-social! Nobody ever gets together to chat anymore they just pick up their damn cell phones and act likes that’s the same thing!
@Incandescent Chimera
Accidents can happen when you are talking to the person sitting next to you in the car. It’s being focused! When you drive, focus! Any disruption will increase the likelihood of an accident.
@Craig
Hahaha.. I agree!
r u sure mona u hate them or was the guy just good looking n u think that he was talking 2 u lol haha joking that was a bad joke but thats what i am good at lol(bad jokes)no they r the worse invention ever they r good if u sitting at a desk otherwise there garbage i was driving 1 day n i notice this guy driving 2 along side me n he was moving his month like crazy n no1 else was in the car with him i was really thinking he was on something n maybe he was caz i never saw the other side (his other ear)?????
I agree 100% on your views on auto safety. As a cyclist, I obsess about these things.
Still, I don’t know how safe the anti-cell phone laws will make us. I agree that hands-free is a joke. No different than allowing regular cell phones, passengers, or even music.
I really don’t have any answers save for making driving less boring which IMHO is the main reason people feel the need for entertainment. Round-abouts and crazy painted intersections seem to help, though this is a bit OT, sorry.
Anway, good post.
It’s annoying now but I think a future enhancement will make the sound travel more efficiently to the ear and allow for CONTEXT-specific volume. Some devices already do these for microphones–ie., shouting to ONE person in a library. Amazing stuff. I can’t wait for it to be commercialized–probably will take a while since it is currently the size of a large 2 feet fan.
I always thought they all looked like cyborgs. In the first place it is annoying to people around then when they are speaking loudly on a cell phone.
I personally am not interested in their news.
It’s people idea of look at me i act like a buisness man, but when he has an accident let’s se how this act will be helpful to him
I am with you on this; I would rather be holding onto the phone and talking then through an ear piece. Unless I need to drive. That is the only time I’ll have my ear piece on. And I do agree with you on the point about talking on the phone with or without an ear piece is the same thing. I found out that I couldn’t concentrate on the driving if I was talking at the same time .. even when I was wearing the ear piece. So I would always keep the conversation short.
And if you thought driving and talking on the phone was bad, now they are advancing to texting too.21
and its really embarrassing when a nice lady would talk to me….and I would respond happily only to be shocked by “oh, sorry, I’m on the phone”!!!
I know, right! They must want to be assimilated into the borg and become robots. Are they really talking to someone, or do they just want to look important!?
I hate them too! I have answered so many people using them thinking they were saying something to me. When it happens I feel like an idiot, but they still look like an idiot.
@Keith
Hehehe.. I try avoiding answering people that I don’t know.
