Wave of freedom

By: Mona
.......................

I don’t know how to explain the feeling of being free and having your own car. It’s the most amazing feeling. I don’t feel constrained to anything, or sharing my ride with anyone. I am glad I got a car now and not earlier in my life. I think I did well by saving the cash and paying for my car one time. I think I am gonna enjoy this. I may suck at parking, but seriously, 50% of the people do to! :D

Let’s talk about work. Today it was suggested that maybe I need to work over time, and they will pay me for those hours for about 3 or 4 months. That’s like over 12 hours a day of working. I am really thinking about it, but I am very hesitant if this will really happen and I am asked to formally. I don’t know if I can handle it. I am barely handling my current life situation of having no free time, but over time? I don’t know.

I know it would be nice to have an over flow of money coming in, but I am thinking if I was going to do it, maybe I will go maximum 10 hours a day. What do you guys think? So 8 am – 6 pm. Hmm.. the programmer’s life. They want so much from our brains!!

In the meantime, everything is good. I know there were some negative comments or overly concerned comments in the past couple of posts, but you guys know what? Life goes on. It is not meant as arrogance or thinking highly of my self. It is more of comfort and thinking about my self. I want to learn to do that, because the reason I was hurt in the past because I kept thinking of everyone else first then me. Maybe some day I will try to find the balance, but for now, I want to find what my comfort zone is. Once I do, I think I will slowly change.

Finally, this weekend is the long weekend! Wohoo! Yaaay!! I needed some free time!! :D

Know how you feel, the freedom of a car (especially one you pay for right away) makes you feel like you could do whatever you want.

maybe you should check out working overtime, at least try it temporary and see how it fits you. You probably won’t have to do it everyday, ask them about that. The extra money is always good. And if you don’t like it, you could tell them you don’t want to do it anymore.

A car is totally the ticket to freedom. Here in LA it isn’t even an option not to have one. If I lived in Toronto (where I am from) I would be thrilled to take public transportation but that isn’t really an option here!

Oh at last…a post on this blog that conveys a feeling of satisfaction and contentment. It seems to me as if this is the first post that does not contain blaming and complaining, mumbling and grumbling. I am happy to see you happy.

The best thing I love about your My Eight Pearl is that it is fully paid for. The sword of imminent payments always hanging above ruins the pleasure of life.

To have more money is a wonderful thing no doubt. But if you are already barely handling your current life situation of having no free time, please think twice before taking up this over time thing. That’s the way I see it.

I would try 10 hours at first. I work allot of overtime and trust me it will burn you out so better to take a small bite.

And yes, I know about the freedom of a car. It’s essential especially living in a big city because taking a bus might end up being an hour long journey or more.

    Have fun with it!

Very nice post. You are a leader among your peers! Just a fun fact, if you are ever in need of shipping cars anywhere around the world, look up Auto Shipping Network. They did a great job for me! keep up the good work and god bless you!
