And I laughed hysterically
Time: 4:40 pm.
Where: Driving out of the streets of downtown heading home.
What I heard on the radio: Lady called in saying, “Hello! The worst thing that ever happened to me was get married!” Radio MC said, “Wow.. ok! Haha.” Lady replied saying, “And the best thing that ever happened to me was a divorce!”
I laughed hysterically and my head jolted forward towards the steering wheel, and I almost died laughing while driving around 60km/h. My window was fully open! I then moved my head back up and I continued laughing all the way home. Best thing I heard in a long time!
In reality, it is not meant to be funny, but the way the lady said it and her excited voice in the beginning and then a sigh of relief in the end just made my day. I wish I could meet her and tell her, “So, how old are you? Younger than me eh?! Sucks to be you!”
Thank God I am not her age and divorced. That’s why my humble little internet friends, avoid marriage at all costs!

Haha.. I am still laughing..
lame
hahah that is funny lollolol
@Greg
And ur more lame!
@Charlie
someone else thought it was funny..
To be honest, I didn’t think it’s funny.
So, you think it’s better to be never married than to be divorced? I would agree only with the first part
Still, if it made you laugh, than it was funny 4 u and it doesn’t matter what others might think
@VerbaVolant.info
I wrote in my post that in reality it is not meant to be funny. I just laughed because of her tone of voice when she said such a thing. hahhaa.. funny to me!
Well, if I heard personally I would have laugh myself. Although to some it is a serious issue, I think we just have to accept the fact that things like that happens and instead of being sad and negative about it, some of us will just have to find how to face this type of situation.
@Mona
There isn’t anything that hurts more than heartbreak so if she was crowing about how happy she was to be divorced she’s got some screws loose in my opinion! But I’m glad she provided some entertainment for you at least, Mona
It’s funny.. funny! Not the context of what it is about. Divorce is not funny.. but the way she said it live on the radio for the entire city and surrounding areas to hear in such an enthusiastic tone was hilarious. It is the way it was said but not what is said. Find the humour of it people!!
I married for more than 20 years.me,my wife and my grown children,all are happy with it.I wonder why the parents of those who laugh,got maried in their life? OR why they never DIVORCED BEFORE BIRTH OF THEIR OWN CHILDREN..? why “MONA” was allowed to laugh expresion of a stupid woman?(just kidding)
Stupidity has its own limit.
Well, without being shocked, some celebrate divorce. I heard even it became a trendy business for ceremonies organizers.
In Moroccan Sahara/Western Sahara (Please, don’t talk politics again), the society is matriarchal where women have the last word. I heard that when a woman is divorced, she celebrates it as if it was a wedding marriage. Just a detail: because Sahraoui women are known for their independence & strenght in their tribal society, they’re the nightmare of any future mother-in-law from other parts of Morocco. I know a friend from a wealthy family who have origin from theirs. One word: very liberal
