What do you remember?
I was listening to a podcast today at work, and yes, I use a Macintosh and I use iTunes because it is FREE! Anyways, one of the podcast topics was how far can we remember? Most Scientists say that we can remember things as far back as three years old.

(This is a picture of me (MONA) when I was 2.5 years old!)
So, I thought about it, and I have many recollections when I was very young. One memorializing event was when I realized how people look at me from a distant. Because I saw my self in the mirror all the time, I kept wondering how I looked like in someone else’s eye. Strange as it may sound, but I do remember that.
I also remember the time when we arrived home from a long trip. I remember bags brought in to the house, and me standing looking around the house leaning against the wall in the living room.
I also remember one time when we were on a trip, and my dad did not want to drive in the mud, and the trip was over!
I finally remember, and I was always remember when my mom used to rock me to sleep in the balcony and sing me songs. The reason I remember this because my mom keeps telling me that she had serious time putting me to sleep when I was young.
I don’t know what age I was. I could have been 3, 4 or 5. All I remember was vague images of childhood. Some say it is best to not look at pictures when you were young, especially event related pictures, and try to remember something from the past.
Do you remember anything as far back as three years old?
Blah Blah, Geeky, Random Thoughts, They said what?, Whatever!

I don’t know what age I was, but I do know what my earliest memories are. Actually, I had to write them all down – as part of a career self-assessment exercise I did years ago.
I ended up writing a lot of my life story in the process (and never finished the actual task I was supposed to) – but it was a good thing; because as we get older, we lose our memory. To record those things – whether in word or picture – gives us something to look back on when the mind has lost its youth.
@Dreamlife
That’s very interesting that you did that. I heard many people try to write down what they dreamt about the moment they wake up. It’s hard, but you can train your brain to do that over time.
I love remembering things from the past. Especially the tiny details that mean so much to us!
What can I say Mona? You haven’t changed one bit. When I look at that picture, I see the same cute Mona looking back at me. You look adorable
@Sarah
Yes yes.. if I was lost as a child, and was still being searched for when I am at my age now, people would recognize me right away! lol
@Sarah
wow you love mona i dont wanna sound mean but you sweat her a little too much. mona honestly i ike it better when your ranting and raving about the terrorist arabs thats much better.
@osama
ARABS ARE NOT TERRORISTS!!
OH MY GOD!!! I can’t believe yo said that.. if you think they are, I appreciate you not coming to my blog.
I have very strong memories of being 4 years old but nothing prior to that.
You are looking cute mona.. i do have vivid memories of my childhood but dont know what was my age. Memories are very faint and few when i was less than 5-6 yrs of age.
i hope you are doing good. I have been reading your blogs not so frequently and noticed some amount of sadness and frustration may be someone has hurt you a lot. I wish that god be with you and all is well. Take care.

@osama
Are you implying I’m a lesbian? Well you’re wrong. I have my issues, but Mona is just someone I admire nothing more. I always thought Islam taught us to tell people we like them or dislike them. At least that’s how I was raised. If you want me to shut my trap. Then fine.
Don’t like my attitude? then screw you! I don’t give a two way hoots about what you or what anyone else thinks. I am what I am, so I’ll let myself be, whatever I want. FYI, ‘Arab Terrorists’ is a racial slur and ethnic stereotype. Don’t marginalise an entire population of people. Get your f*ckin facts right. One who oppresses people, will be severely punished on the day of resurrection by Allah.
P.S. Mona, please excuse my vulgarities, some people just piss me off.
@Sarah
why are you mad, thats not nice to curse at me. i am sry sarah. dont wry one day you will see the error of your ways then you wont curse at people on a public forum i am disaapointed in you!!!
@osama
Maybe I took your comment to heart a little bit. I am disheartened quite easily. It’s beyond my control. I know its wrong… FYI… I think you should take back your comment about Arab Terrorists. I will say, I am oppressed by Arabs and Muslims, but not by God (Allah) or Islam, so never point the finger by generalising a race or ethnic group of people. At the end of the day, 20% of Arabs are Christian, Jewish or still belong to a pagan religion from ancient times.
