I guess we have that eccentric look
“My neighbor was Arab, ” a lady at work said, “AND THEY ARE GORGEOUS! Mona!! Your eyes and Arab makeup are amazing!”
Arab makeup? What Arab makeup I thought to my self. Dark eye shadow and eye liner are classified as Arab makeup only?
I told her, “Thanks!”
She then said, “Years ago I went to a Lebanese wedding, and oh boy, I had fun! Weddings with traditions are amazing!”
I said, “You should see the modern Arab weddings. Show room lovely girls.”
She said, “Oh I bet! I want to go to one so bad!”
Mind you guys, this lady is in her late 40′s, and amazingly beautiful for her age. I can see men now staring seductively at her. I wish when I am her age I can even look close to what she is now.
Oh well, it is good to know that Arabs are known for something very positive! I am sick of the media and closed minded idiots continually labeling Arabs as terrorists. That really pisses me off!
I wish now that Arabs walk that extra mile and continue contributing to enhance their culture and become world leaders in everything else!

i am excited i am the first to comment. well mona dont be sad anymore. things are ok, life doesnt suck that much, maybe you should think about moving abroad, like the united states its much better than canada, this might be a reason why at times youfeel down. in the united states you will find many different kinds of arabs. the annoying ones, the ones that hate to be arabic so they change their names, the super religious ones. the most best kind of arabs that you will meet are the ones in the middle when i say middle i mean the ones that arent so so so religious but still observe islam, and arent so far away from themselves that they attempt to adopt another cuture as a way to escape their own reality. well mona honestly i wish our paths cross becuase i think me and you have a lot in common we would have some interesting things to say to each other. well have a good day mizzz mona(p.s. i like your name lol, and i really do think your pretty, but rememeber nobdy’s pretty when they are frowning)
Well, I myself as well is not happy with how they looked at Arab people. My husband’s a Lebanese and was born in Jeddah but like you due to war in Lebanon, they moved to Syria. Well, Lebanese have something to be proud of. The recent Ms. USA is born Lebanese. They really do have lovely eyes. Unlike Asian (like me).
@osama
Living in the States again?? I donno if I am up to it.. I barely can handle Canada! Thanks for the offer though!
@Jhari
Lol.. everyone is pretty in their own way! Every race is beautiful..
Muuna,
HHamdlillah,u r slowly and steadily moving toward a right track.
I am frequently stopped and random women will admire my eye makeup and ask how I do it. I definitely think some of what I admire about doing good eye make up comes from the arab styles. I Just love it. To me the eyes are the most important feature on a face. I like to make them gorgeous. I love the eyes in the pic you did here. I rarely wear liner under the eyes. I like it.
As for close minded idiots? They’ll always exist but pointing this out in your blog is a great way to break down those ignorant stereotypes I think.
Actually, I believe “exotic look” is the phrase you’re looking for.
@myblog
Right track? Was I swaying from this track b4? lol I didn’t even know I was on it!!
@Sandi
I bet your eyes look gorgeous! The girl in the pic I got from Flickr. Most of the images that I post on my blog are from there.
@Meyrick Kirby
You make it sound like we are an exotic fruit!
Arab/Indian make up is exotic and nice. I have only one problem with it, I get itchy and red eyes sometimes, and then I end up smudging it as I wipe my eyes. It attracts too much attention, so I save it for weddings, gatherings and those significant occasions. Sometimes eyeliner hurts your eyes a bit, so best to use the natural kajal/khol because the commercial ones may cause allergies.
That style of makeup looks beautiful on women that have quite strong features and BIG EYES =)
anyways arab girls are most beautiful so everything looks nice on them…. WHO wants to be a plain jane =D not me =D =D
If you’re an exotic fruit, you’re one I wouldn’t mind biting int… hum, perhaps this is getting too risque?!
Ahaha, this is funny but it was good thing that she had postive side about Arab culture too
But why did she go to Lebanon ?
BTW, this is different topic but do you hear some Anti mosque & muslims who denied to built a mosque in NYC just besides the 9/11 building? The mayor decided that the building doesnt need to preserve it which was built 159 years ago ? so Mosque will be built …
How crazy majority people are …. Very sad fact against Muslims.. And ++ Ramadan Kareem to you Mona. Are you gonna do Fasting?
