Thank you for reading this corny post and expecting something totally Mona like with unmeasurable complaints and a hope of a better new year. Let’s be honest here and not be such fake overly optimistic people. People like me don’t like some of you quirky people; however, I also don’t wish you any harm but good fortune in all your accomplishments and future complaints.

In conclusion of this pointless but eagerly anticipated post of my review of 2010, I have but a few words to summarize it:

“2010 sucked ass! 2011 is like every year, unexpected!”

One of the guys that messaged me yesterday on Facebook messaged again today asking why I don’t talk to him much. So I replied back saying I don’t talk much and I didn’t think I was supposed to message him every hour. Also, he told me he was 36, but I saw his profile and it is 10 years younger. I just casually mentioned it and said it might have been a typo and I am here but I am not a very talkative girl.

Therefore, this is the reply I got and I was like WTF is wrong with men!

Doesn’t matter, dear. Don’t get me wrong. It’s about your cold and arrogant attitude at that point in time. I felt it and it didn’t feel very good.

So then you are saying you talked to me like I am an idiot just because you “thought” I was younger than you. Are you the type that judges men by their age?

Usually that type is self sufficient and plus they do bad things themselves, thats why they are that judgmental.

Maybe you are the type that dates black guys (sorry but this I don’t like)…just like you women are prejudiced about age.
Maybe you sleep around with you canadian office people. you know office mentality.
You look like you are single. So maybe there is a good reason for that.

So never mind my age dear.

don’t i have enought life experience for a 36 y.o. lol I have been places and i know people…but I always give them a chance to improve, especially the first impressions.

I would like to get to know you, only if you will have enough patience to let me. Together we can change a few things.

And I replied to him saying:

Wow. I love your judgment. By the way, I was talking to you back and forth before I added you and I didn’t even know or care about your age. You mentioned your age, and I saw your profile and it didn’t match. Therefore I mentioned it. If you took offense of it and then judged me to the most extreme sinful disgusting point of anyone’s life then sorry I even mentioned it.

I am sorry I even bothered or replied to you. And thank you for judging me.

Blah Blah, Culture, Idiots, They said what?, Whatever!

I know I should start the new year with a promise to my old self of what I should be doing more often! Yes, you guessed it. Blog some more! Life is so hectic when you are on vacation. I am trying to enjoy it as much as I can without having to write anything, do anything beyond the scope of my mere God given intelligence, and not worry my self with ruthless comments from the world wide web.

Nonetheless, I cannot control the intertwined channels in my brain. I think way too much when I am doing nothing. I think about life, my life, and oh, a simple drop of tear finds its way down the channel of my cheeks. However, merely a few hours later, an inevitable smile bestowed its presence on my face just because …

This morning, I checked my Blackberry and I received two Facebook messages to my personal account from the opposite sides of the spectrum. Two Arab guys, that seem to know me or seen me around 10 ages ago and decided to message me out of the blue. One claimed that he saw me in downtown the other day and he had to turn back to have a second look. And the other seems to have seen me around UWO back when I was a teenager with half my wits! He then asked if I was married. And I replied with my well known attitude, “If I was, why would I even answer you?”

I realized that I am very lucky. Not because they made me laugh, but the thought that some people have started their new years resolution a bit too early this year. Or at least they want to be a bit daring, and try their luck in life, because you know, they got tired as well.

Good thing I don’t want to try, but I will enjoy the fact that there is still hope in this life and people won’t stop trying.

I wrote this quote on my status on Facebook yesterday:

“If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.”

I really love this quote because I feel that I can 100% relate to it. I think anyone can relate to it and think about themselves on a deeper level. What are you trying to represent? Do you stand for anything? Can you raise your opinion without feeling the urge to pull back?

I think for 2011, I want to be stronger. I want to just say what is on my mind because I want people to recognize me for being me. I can’t stand following people. Even when I was little I hated walking behind anyone and I always asked first, “why?”

This is not stubbornness or some egotistical thing. No no. This is more of representing to the world something about you that is unique and noticeable. It may seem small or very insignificant, but you did something different. Try it. Don’t ask anyone what they think of you or what you may be capable of. Just self analyze your self and say, “I can do something different or enhance what I got.”

Maybe your first mission is to start a blog for example, or a video log or some random project that will grab people’s attention in some way. If you don’t want to start with the internet, start smaller. Maybe around your family and friends first and then evolve it. Make it bigger and stronger.

Change and do something different. That would be a great new years resolution for sure!
