Blah Blah, Funny

I am so excited people! Really about nothing in particular, but you know, life sucks and I have to think how amazing it really should be. So what’s new in my world? Well, I have finished my 5th course for my PM certification. I got 2 more to go then I will be labeled as an awesome dictator! Also, this upcoming Canada Day weekend I will be in the great capital city of Canada celebrating in style! Also, William and Kate are gonna be there! Totally awesome! I hope to get a glimpse of the royalty!

Wow, now that’s craziness to think about for today. Oh my God, I feel so relieved. It has been such hard few months. I have been working full time, taking these crazy ass courses and I have just been over whelmed and I have no life. No life what so ever!! Why am I doing all this I keep asking my self. Maybe cause I don’t want to be a follower. I never was really, and I do have serious problems with authority, but WE ALL KNEW THAT!

So, my goal from now on is to write on my blog, like all the time and blabber nonsense every day!

Today I was driving really fast, and then a line of little ducks decided to cross the street. I was like WHAT THE FUZZ! So I braked really fast and swerved sharply. I was like OMG! I would have been devastated if anything happened to them! Poor blind crazy duckies!

What else? Oh, I do enjoy the emails I get from guys asking me to help them find a nice Muslim girl and they give me their digits! I should be the middle lady between them and dating sites and get a nice 20% commission! It doesn’t seem they understand how to use a dating site, so they use me instead. Typical! Blah!

I wish I had some guy to talk to today. I felt like I needed to talk to someone and flirt a bit. I am pretty shallow and I just need some flattery in my life and I was in that mood today. I am so arrogant! Aghhh!! MONA STOP!

Ok, umm, what else? I’m enjoying going to the gym. I think I go like 5 or 6 times a week. A lot eh? But I am a lazy sloth, if I don’t go then I will lay on the couch watching the Food Network or some stupid show on TLC. I miss reading, I should read no? Books are more entertaining, well, more intellectual and make me feel smarter!

I am just rambling on and on. I got accused once that I have bad grammar, then 10 other “guys,” and I emphasize men here, said the same thing. Guys don’t like me, and they try to find any fault in my writing. They cannot argue back, so they say, “MONA, YOUR GRAMMAR IS HORRIBLE!” Really, what about that post where I wrote why women walk behind men? Or that other post where I talked about women being shallow in front of men and marrying anyone for the sake of getting married without thinking? Oh man, anyways, then I looked up to my left side and saw the hanging 40,000 dollar piece of paper that says Major in Computer Science, and then I reassured my self that I am no English major. I know, my university level of English is not as bad as psychology majors, and oh my God people, I have proof read psychology majors papers. Jeez!! The English massacre!

Blah blah blah.

Anyways, I can ramble forever, but you guys are sick of me already. Everyone is sick of me. I am loud, obnoxious, a bit crazy, but best of all, I am honest and I love to tell it like it is. You guys are beautiful lovely people, except you, and maybe you. You guys know who you are.

I was looking for an old blog post, but I may have removed it cause I am a bit moody and unstable. (We all knew that!) I was looking at my visitor statistics this morning, and I feel that Arabs and Muslims are still stuck in this mind set that I can never understand. I am an ethnic visible minority. I am not white. I am the only non-white in my family. Half my family is white and have blue or green eyes! I somehow inherited the DNA of some distant dark relative and that’s why I am tan. I am an olive skinned middle eastern girl and I have big eyes! I am who I am, but like many of you have labeled me on Facebook, I am a tough cookie! Meoow!

Don’t judge an entire culture and religion by their skin colour.

For those naive people that think Arabs are white or Muslims are white should get out of their little nests and see the world around them. We are so diverse, we are so mixed, we are not all WHITE!

Please, I am begging you! For your own sanity and to calm your nerves, we are not all WHITE! And for the most shocking news of all that you did not think about, WE ARE all homo-sapiens! We have a brain and we function just like you too! We are not the bottom feeders of the food chain. I just want to make that clear you know so you stop wondering that all Arabs or Muslims are white or should be white.

I wrote white far too many times in this post. I want to say green now because I am thinking that maybe we are aliens.

Arabs marrying non-Arabs

There is a question that I don’t have a real answer for, but it is the most asked question that people ask me. This question is mostly asked because people think that the Rebellious Arab Girl is such a crazy odd girl who will do anything and everything.

Mona, why don’t you just marry a non-Arab?

What’s wrong with marrying a convert?

Mona, if you don’t like the Arabic culture, why not just marry outside of it and spare us your complaints?

Blah blah blah!

My answer is simple. I was raised a certain way, and I don’t want someone to get accustomed to the way I was brainwashed by the family and arabic culture, and I don’t have to get accustomed to his. However it is my choice, and I never looked down upon Arabs that marry outside of their culture. That is their choice and they have their reasoning to do so. I have no reason to judge, and no one should. I actually understand why they do that most of the time.

Why deal with the Arab in-laws that won’t leave you alone?

Why deal with messed up Arab customs that have no basis or reasoning?

Why deal with Arab backwards ideologies?

Those are just questions, and everyone has an answer to them. Many Arabs marry non-Arabs. It is known throughout history. A lot of people are against it, and I don’t know why. If it effects you directly, then go ahead and be angry about it. All I know is, that each person is held responsible for their own actions. Let them do what they please. Arab male or female, let them be.

I know there are so many problems with interracial marriages, especially the way Arabs perceive it, but what can you do? Arabs are so picky sometimes that they want their sons and daughters to only marry an Arab. However, this Arab has to be from the same country, speaks the same dialect, and is from the same village. What can you do? This is their mentality. Accept it, or leave it.

For me, I don’t have a problem with the interracial marriage thing, which I know why it happens. My problem is Arabs themselves who need to learn to accept each other first as Arabic speaking people. I used to get ridiculed for my messed up Arabic dialect by “other” Arabs who happen to be from the same old country as me. However, I am from a different region, but to them, I am from a different world. Therefore, this mentality is a reason that many Arabs (not me) resort to this solution of getting out of the whole Arabic messed up ideology, and just marry someone who doesn’t even speak the language and end it there.

Would I do it? Probably not. I like my language, and I like being an Arab. However, I am not rushing or ever thinking of this issue. I know there are so many problems in this culture of mine that make me want to abolish my roots, but seriously, it’s not so bad being an Arab. However, I believe that it is logical for an Arab to marry another Arab. If some Arabs think negatively of it, then maybe one day they will see the upside of the whole thing. If those Arabs really want things to change, then maybe they can start by the way they want to live their life, and raise their children in a more modern Arab lifestyle.

You change, things will change, and maybe you might be a little bit happier as a result. Right?

Not every Arab story is similar to Romeo and Juliette’s, where instead of the suicide, the result is the denial of your entire Arab roots. Let’s avoid that, and think of a way to change the messed up ideologies first, eh?

I remember the day when I used to be hated a lot cause of the things I wrote on here. That’s why I stopped commenting on other people’s blogs or getting involved in the entire Arab blogsphere. I was hated, and with a passion. If you still hate me, I love you too! Another blog post from the past that I wrote on October 30, 2007. My favorite!

PS. People I knew stole my pictures from Facebook (before I made my fun separate blog account), and they made hate blogs against me. That’s when I knew I didn’t want the glamor and prestige of being an outspoken blogger. I just wanted to be me. Please note, I wasn’t drunk (God forbid) or anything. I was just extremely high on sugar when I wrote the post. Every time I read it I LMAO! (original blog post link)

Oh my lord! Dear Lord! Our one and only savior! I finally found the light. Thank you Lord for showing me the light! I finally know how it feels to be the celebrity I was meant to be! I always knew you had a special place for me in this internet world to be hated and loved equally. Thank you Lord for the balance and the equality!
