Who am I?

My name is Mona, and I go by the internet name Rebellious Arab Girl. I have been living in Canada for over twelve years. I call my self the world traveler with a unique history. I am originally Palestinian from a town near Acre (Akka) in the northern part of Palestine. However, my parents were born in Lebanon due to the 1948 war in Palestine. I was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on December 23, 1980, where my parents worked for many years. I have lived in Saudi Arabia till I was eleven years old, and then moved to the deep south of USA where I lived for a period of five years. In 1997, my family and I immigrated to Canada, and I call it my second home.

I have great interest in technology and the internet world. I have a Bachelor of Science, Major in Computer Science, from the University of Western Ontario. I am a computer programmer and graphics designer, and I worked as one for six and a half years. In August of 2008, I decided to quit my job and take a long vacation. I just needed a break from the working world, and spend it to reflect upon my self instead.

I decided that since the economy sucks ass, and finding a job again is nearly impossible with my lack of acceptance of Information Technology managers who posses no education in the field, that being a full time blogger and sometimes private online contractor is better. I rather be my own boss and venture into the unknown. This blog is my unknown, and my only source of income. It’s not that I need money, I am filthy rich that I can buy a yacht! Well, I did work as a nerd for 6 years, so you can imagine. Duh!

However, I am still looking for work to satisfy the social ideology that having a stable income is a lot better. Umm, I am waiting for that opportunity to work with smart people that actually spent a few years studying it, and knowing what they are talking about. It seems impossible now a day!!

Why I made this site?

I made this blog back in 2005 on my 25th birthday. I made it as a safe haven for my personal thoughts and an open diary for the world to read. I write about various issues and thoughts in my daily life. I question many aspects of my life, and the culture that I live in. In the end, I am who I am. I am an Arabic girl who loves to write and express herself for the world to read.

How I made this site?

I use Wordpress for a backend, and I created the template from scratch. Also, I used Photoshop for headers and other graphics. I am a CSS, HTML and PHP expert. So if you need help, make sure you are knowledgable in these areas first because I will not make an entire template just for you, unless you pay me some labor fees. Did I mention I am unemployed?
