If you are wondering what the title says, well, it is pretty much saying something like: What’s wrong with these people and these songs?
So I was bored and needed some form of entertainment or I was gonna to2 (explode). I decided to check out Arab videos on YouTube. I found funny rap songs. I don’t know what’s wrong with Arabs and food, but we love our food!
I made a video of the music that DJ Hecktic has made for me yesterday. I got a bunch of dancers and me to be a part of the video as well. I got my own posse! :p
Anyways, that was enough dancing. Although I think I made a kick ass video with my people, you can tell I am bored at work. So I spent the past hour making this video. I got nothing else to do!
All I have been doing the past 2 days is listening to music and singing in my room. I used to sing when I was little and was in a singing group for school. Ah well. I think my kid voice was a lot better. I was never good in using any musical instrument. Piano I sucked at. Guitar I sucked at too. Anything else I sucked at. Eh, I should just go back to being an artist. I miss those days of painting and drawing and making sculptures. I really do. I miss my life pre-work life and adult life. I did great things and won art competitions. I wonder why I don’t hold a pencil anymore and draw anymore.
Mona is speechless. (I know!!) Why? Because Leona Lewis is pure amazing! Just listening to her re-do the most amazing songs in her own way makes me just.. aahh.. whatever..
Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word
And this one is obviously my favorite song. I loved it when I was younger. Without You by Mariah Carey. I listened to it so so so many times. More than anything I ever listened to in my life, and her version of it was amazing.
Tomorrow is Monday eh? Why do weekends seem to fly by?
I got an interesting email this morning from a Lebanese man named Ali. He said he wanted to help me in my rebellion and loves Palestine. I believe he loves Palestine more than Palestinians them selves. I feel a bit small and unpatriotic compared to him. What am I rebelling against now?
So Ali wrote:
…
My dream as a child was to be on an army that would march into Palestine, wash my face on the bank of the river Jordan. I am rebel too… I admit I do not have the answers but I am getting the technique.
Whether you believe it or not we are the chosen people. Those large brown eyes with long lashes that carry so much strength and love and resolve. Contrary to popular belief, we don’t know how to hate.
I didn’t know what to say, so I made a video demanding peace because we want peace. I found a perfect song by Lenny Kravits called “We Want Peace,” and I thought it was PERFECT!
I was bored today and I needed to stimulate my brain with some work. I love listening to quiet ambient chill out music sometimes. That’s actually my favorite genre. However, I didn’t want to just put an mp3 and that’s it. I love making simple animated movies. Nothing complex and just music. So I searched around and I joined AnimationFactory.com to get some great background videos. I also used Ulead VideoStudio as my video editor.
I also noticed so many bloggers joining Vimeo.com to upload their video streams and those videos are SO nice! Unlike youtube’s grainy fuzzy videos. So I joined and I will be posting very very simple music videos with random quotes every now and then. I think it is subtle and a way to keep my brain active and get to do some simple graphical work. I just want a way to listen to the song in a video format with no mp3 streaming. I am not going to be spending a lot of time on those videos from now on.
However, I unfortunately have to say this, but I had hard time encoding the videos with certain file types on my STUPID Windows Vista, and I wished I had a Macintosh. BLASPHEMY! I said the M word! :O
I chose the song: Speed of Light by Alphawezen
If you want to request a song, just leave a comment and I will see what I can come up with next. I need ideas!
This is the most bizarre title of a song I ever heard. I think it would have been a great SITE title. ArabGirlBleedinglove.com. Just another great oxymoronic phrase that I love! But seriously… how in the world can anyone bleed love? Sounds so repulsive!
I came up with a list of wedding songs in the past, but then I thought to my self, meh, the odds of me ever getting married anytime in the near future is slim to none. According to Arabian culture, I am not desirably fair skinned and light eyed, and I am way expired. My expiry date was December 23, 2003. That’s when I turned 23 and I became at the edge of too old to be eligible for marriage. Ok, some may argue 24, but common, 24 is not the same as 23. IT’S ON YEAR OLDER! Your skin is sagging by then and can’t have kids!
So, I may not appear to be the patriotic Palestinian as I am required to be. With my blog I feel I have to live up to a standard. I swear it is getting difficult. Anyways, 3 more days to go for our gloomy celebration of being the world travelers because we got kicked out of our homes. 60 years! 60!
Anyways, I decided this. For the crazy patriotic Palestinian brotha from anotha motha who will end up marrying me, we will be playing and singing the national anthem of Palestine no matter what. I am sorry, but it is a rule. Can’t have a Palestinian wedding without the anthem playing. That’s a big no no and a bad omen to the marriage!! :argh:
Translation to English:
My homeland, My homeland
Majesty and beauty, sublimity and splendor,
Are in your hills, are in your hills
Life and deliverance, pleasure and hope
Are in your air, are in your air
When will I see you? When will I see you?
Secure and prosperous
Victorious and honored
Will I see you in your eminence
Reaching the stars, reaching the stars?
My homeland, my homeland
My homeland, my homeland
Our youth will not tire, until your independence
Or they will die, or they will die
We will drink from death and never be to our enemies
Like slaves, like slaves
We do not want, we do not want
An eternal humiliation nor a miserable life,
An eternal humiliation nor a miserable life,
We do not want, but we will bring back
Our illustrious history, our illustrious history
My homeland, my homeland
My homeland, my homeland
The sword and the pen not the talk nor the quarrel
Are our symbols, are our symbols
Our glory and our covenant and a duty to be faithful
Arouse us, arouse us
Our honor, Our honor
Is a noble cause and a waving banner
Is a noble cause and a waving banner
O, behold you in your eminence
Victorious over your enemies
Victorious over your enemies
My homeland, my homeland
I just noticed that after hearing this song more than 2 times it gets fucken annoying!
Updated May 7th @ 12:24 pm: I HAD TO REMOVE THE SONG AND I AM JUST PUTTING A LINK TO IT. IT’S SO ANNOYING TO BE VISIBLE ON MY SITE. I am getting TORTURED by it! :annoyed:
